Truth, The REAL Truth

Interesting article about James Bond:

IT is a scene that perfectly captures the intrigue and elegance of the life of a secret agent.

In Goldfinger, Sir Sean Connery's James Bond swims ashore on a clandestine mission only to strip off his wetsuit and reveal a perfectly pressed tuxedo beneath.

Now a new history of MI6, the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), reveals the fact behind the fiction.

During the Second World War, MI6 put a secret agent ashore on a Dutch beach near a seaside casino.

He was dressed in a specially designed rubber outer suit, which he then stripped off to reveal a full evening dinner jacket and tie.

Pieter Tazelaar, the Dutch agent whose mission was to glean intelligence on German-occupied Holland, was even sprinkled with a few drops of Hennessy XO brandy by a colleague so as to strengthen his cover as a party-goer.

The mission, which took place in November, 1941 is revealed in MI6: The History of the Secret Intelligence Service by Professor Keith Jeffrey.

The author has been given unrestricted access to the files of MI6 which, unlike all other government departments, have never been released to the Public Records Office at Kew.

Among the myths inspired by the James Bond books which are scotched in the history is that secret agents have a "licence to kill".

As Prof Jeffrey explained: "No such thing existed. In wartime, some officers and agents were given weapons training for defence. Espionage was dangerous work and many paid with their lives." Yet the book does feature a couple of agents from whom Fleming is thought to have drawn inspiration for his celebrated character.

A Headline Only Wyatt Could Top,....

Inmates of the jail where Lindsay Lohan is set to spend up to 90 days have warned of gangs out to attack the starlet, saying "everyone will want a piece of her", The Sun reported Tuesday.

Lindsay Lohan will leave her Hollywood pad next week and move into new digs at the Lynwood correctional facility in Los Angeles. But instead of wild showbiz parties and a plush double bed to curl up in afterwards, the actress will be locked up for 23 hours a day in a tiny cell with a rock-hard bunk and a single blanket.

Lohan's A-list neighbors will be replaced with tough guards and fearsome lesbian gangs desperate to get their hands on her.

Tamara Haley, 38, is doing time for heroin possession and prostitution.

She said Monday: "Everyone will want a piece of her. It will make them famous if they hurt Lindsay Lohan.

Now You've Done It!

Gossip blogger Perez Hilton issued a warning to readers not to click for a photo of 17-year-old singer Miley Cyrus if they were “easily offended.”

The link was to an uncensored, up-the-skirt photograph of Cyrus stepping out of a car, seemingly without underwear.

While it was one thing for media outlets to publish pics of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears partying without panties a few years ago, the situation involving Cyrus is quite different, given that she is still a minor.
An unapologetic Hilton responded to the controversy with a tongue-in-cheek video post on Tuesday, claiming that while he likes to be “controversial,” he “doesn’t want to go to jail.” He said Miley was “clearly wearing underwear” and the reason he linked to the photo was not because she was without panties, but because he thought she was exiting the car in a very “un-ladylike manner.” Hilton then posted another picture of Cyrus from the same paparazzi set, saying it was proof that she was, in fact, donning appropriate covering.

But if Hilton did nothing wrong, why did he promptly remove the post and delete it from the server?

This is certainly not the first time Hilton has attacked the “Hannah Montana” star. In 2008 he labeled the then 15-year-old a “Disney Whore" and “Disney Slut.”

And although chances are that all the extra attention surrounding the scandal would have given Hilton a temporary boost in traffic, in the long run, such controversy may have serious professional repercussions for the blogger.

Pop Tarts has learned that ABC, which is owned by Cyrus’s former stomping grounds, Disney, was quick to pull ads for “The View” from PerezHilton.com in the wake of the controversy.

However, on Tuesday evening, the TVLand ad was no longer on Hilton's site.

The Bitter American also remembers:

Isn't this the same raging queen who's obesession with gay marriage brought down the righful Miss USA last year??

Racism! Racism!

Racists in today's mainstream media don't go around praising the Klan, they appear on Fox News saying President Obama was born in Africa, according to Sarah Silverman. "The entire Fox News Channel is a 24-hour-a-day racism engine, but it’s all coded, all implied," she writes in her new book, Bedwetter. "Lou Dobbs used to scream on CNN about ‘immigration,’ not ‘filthy Mexicans.’”

Silverman slams the Tea Party movement and says the coded nature of racism in the right-wing media makes it harder to combat, Newsbusters reports. But Silverman's not the only one taking potshots, reports Mediaite. “Sarah’s anger is understandable having recently lost her television show," responded a Fox spokesman. "We sympathize with her need for attention considering her book is languishing near 300 on Amazon.com.”

And the Bitter American says "Owwww! Pwn'd by Fox!"

And, of course, all you need to know about those harbingers of racial equality on the OTHER media outlets was covered just a few posts below this one,.....

From His Lips to,...Well, Whomever Hollyweirdos Worship,...

Woody Allen has a strange take on the democracy that allowed him to become rich and famous.

The "Scoop" director said it would be a cool idea for President Barack Obama to be dictator for for a few years.

Why?

So he could get things done without all the hassle of opposing views getting in the way.

In an interview published by Spanish language newspaper La Vanguardia (that we translated), Allen says “I am pleased with Obama. I think he’s brilliant. The Republican Party should get out of his way and stop trying to hurt him.”

But wait - there's more!

The director said "it would be good…if he could be a dictator for a few years because he could do a lot of good things quickly."

Of course, Allen has a famously strange relationship with reality. The director took nude photos of his lover Mia Farrow's teen-age adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn, and then ended up marrying her after separating from Farrow.

Farrow also said he molested their seven-year-old adopted daugther, Dylan. A judge refused to act on the charges, but called his relationship with Soon-Yi "grossly inappropriate."

Perhaps that judge has an opinion on Allen's "dictator" comments?

E*Trade Not Caving to Hollyweird Stupidity

You may not be taking Lindsay Lohan's lawsuit over a talking baby ad very seriously, but E*Trade surely is. The online investment company issued a statement to PopEater Thursday slamming the star's claims that the commercial exploits her image as "without merit" and promising a vigorous challenge to the litigation.

"While E*Trade doesn't typically comment on pending litigation, we felt it appropriate given the high level of interest in the E*Trade Baby," the statement reads. "We believe the claims are without merit and we intend to defend ourselves vigorously in this case."

Lohan is suing for $100 million, insisting that the company's commercial about a boyfriend-stealing, "milkaholic" baby -- who happens to be named Lindsay -- was modeled after her. The star's lawyer went further, claiming Lohan has single-name recognition among the general public, and that by naming the baby "Lindsay," E*Trade was "using that knowledge to profit."

Hello, Pot? This Is the Kettle: You're Black!

Seventeen-year-old superstar Miley Cyrus says in an Irish TV interview that she "really disagrees" with the way Madonna and Angelina Jolie allow their children to be on camera all the time.

Somebody needs to have a talk with young Miley.

Let's review the facts. Miley Cyrus was born in 1992. Her first TV appearance was in 2001 on "Doc," a show that starred her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. That means she was 9 years old. She has since achieved massive success as the star of "Hannah Montana" on the Disney Channel, recorded a number of chart-topping songs and starred in movies. All of this activity, which started in her youth, has earned her almost a billion dollars.

Scientology Spokesman Tommy Davis Leaves Interview in Anger

The Church of Scientology is taking a beating today.

First, former member Paul Haggis wrote a scathing letter renouncing the religion, and now a video of spokesman Tommy Davis walking out of an interview with Martin Bashir on 'Nightline,' is making the rounds on the Internet.

Davis was offended when Bashir asked questions about the popular celebrity religion's beliefs. Watch Freakout @ 3:40

Sticks and Stones May Break Our Bones,...

But World Championship rings make everything feel better,...

More Left Coast whining over last night's emasculating of the Dodgers:

Bow-WOW!

I thought we were past this, but now we've got the Choking Dogs showing us a new trick, rolling over and playing dead.

The Phillies have the momentum, the home-field advantage for the clincher, last year's World Series MVP Cole Hamels on the mound, and Cliff Lee ready to go next if needed.

OK, so things are looking a bit bleak.

"They'll show up," Manager Joe Torre countered, and if he's talking about George Sherrill and Jonathan Broxton, forget it, the Dodgers are goners.

The Dodgers had only one chance to win this series, get the most from their second-rate starters, stay close and then mow down the Phillies in the late innings with Sherrill and Broxton.

(snip)

Halloween, as well as the two days that follow, would have been World Series Games 3, 4 and 5 played in Dodger Stadium.

You get this far with the best record in the National League, the home-field advantage and now everyone in the country has good reason to be ticked.

As you know, Fox will be broadcasting the World Series and it likes to put the camera on the face of every single fan sitting in the stands, these fans as ugly as any in the country.

Nowhere in America are people more angry than those living here. During Game 3 they had their humorless furry mascot put on boxing gloves and take on someone who was supposed to be an L.A. fan, sunglasses, cellphone and all.

The furry mascot punched him out, much to the delight of the folks here who love a dash of violence with their sports entertainment.

During Game 4 the furry mascot took a small Dodgers blue helmet, placed it on the ground and then pulverized it, much to the delight of the locals. Same tired skits, by the way, they employed a year ago. (And we beat your sorry, granola-fed asses a year ago, too!)

But this is considered entertainment here, the only bright spot if they draw the Yankees now, getting a look in the mirror at fans who might remind them of themselves.

Waa-aa-aa-aa!!!

CBS Outed?

Gay characters are more common than ever on broadcast TV this season, with representation making gains over last year's all-time high.

According to the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation's 14th annual survey, 18 LGBT regular characters will appear on broadcast series this season, representing 3% of the characters on TV.

GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios said the increase is particularly meaningful coming after last year, when representation doubled from 2007.

"Last year's (survey) looked like it might be a blip, but the spike seems to be a sustained trend in increased number of gay characters," Barrios said. "It's a critical way toward changing the hearts and minds of America."

ABC continues to lead in scripting gay characters, with eight. Barrios said NBC (three) and Fox (four) have made significant strides; only two years ago, Fox had no regular gay characters. The CW has two this year.

CBS, however, has no gay characters out of 132 series regulars.

"CBS alone is a network that continues to weed out gay and lesbian programming," Barrios said. "They're really out of step with network television."

While broadcast continues to increase its LGBT representation, the number of gay characters on mainstream cable networks is down to 25 from last year's 32.

The vast majority of this season's gay characters are men. Only one -- Dr. Arizona Robbins on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" -- is a lesbian, and three other female characters are bisexual. There are no transgender characters.

Barrios singled out Fox's "Glee" for particular praise, citing last week's episode that showed a teenage boy struggling with his sexual orientation and discussing the matter with his father.

"It is a much deeper and fuller portrayal of this issue than what we've seen before," he said.

OK,..is it just me? Who cares how many gay characters are on TV? Haven't we stopped counting the number of black, Latino and Asian characters? Why gays? Just more pushing a socialist agenda in Hollyweird!

Sex and Drugs and WTF??

Ramping up the "Ewwww" factor beyond even my tolerance:

'One Day at a Time' star Mackenzie Phillips promised to tell a juicy family secret -- and boy does she deliver a whopper.

The actress writes in her memoir about her incestuous relationship with her father John Phillips, of Mamas and the Papas fame, PEOPLE reports.

"Don't hate my father," she tells PEOPLE.

She describes that in a haze of drugs, she slept with her father on the night before her wedding.

"On the eve of my wedding, my father showed up, determined to stop it. I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad's bed," she writes. Phillips was 19 at the time.

"My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father," she continues.

"Had this happened before? I didn't know. All I can say is it was the first time I was aware of it. For a moment I was in my body, in that horrible truth, and then I slid back into a blackout," Phillips adds.

Their relationship developed consensually and her father even asked her to run away with him.

"One night Dad said, 'We could just run away to a country where no one would look down on us. There are countries where this is an accepted practice. Maybe Fiji.'"

My ONLY Thoughts on Michael Jackson

Over the weekend, I adamantly resisted posting anything about The Gloved Pederast. Then came the Sunday Talking Heads shows and critical mass was reached in the BitterHouse.

I have come to the realization that I know why, in part, most of the civilized world dislikes the US: we, as a collective society, have the attention span of a 10-year old with ADD!

To wit, for the past week, we watched what could have been this generation's Tienanmen Square or Berlin Wall: In Iran, the populace finally realized they were duped by their leaders. People took to the streets. The 21st Century's greatest tool - the global net - was used again and again to usurp I-Am-A-Mad-Jihad's attempts to squelch the revolution. People watched Fox, CeeNoNews and the Hardcore Liberal Network, wondering if our TelePrompter-addicted leader would finally obtain the cojones to turn his Persian open hand into an iron fist,

Then Jackson died and "Neda" was thrown under the wheels of the LA Coroner's van hauling his carcass away.

Revolution? What revolution? Who cares about democracy, MICHAEL JACKSON DIED!!!

I'm willing to bet Farrah Fawcett died before him just to escape the media onslaught.

And I swear, if he becomes some martyr because rumors persist that his doctors led him down the Elvis Presley path, I'LL SCREAM!!

As always,...

**THAT'S MY OPINION AND YOU'RE ENTITLED TO IT!**

Potheads Calling the Kettle Blacklisted?

Or, follow liberal doctrine or be silenced!

From Ann McIlhenney:

Nowadays blacklists are a silent way of trying to destroy people and their careers.

And that suits those doing the blacklisting particularly if they call themselves liberal and claim to care about censorship and human rights.

But some liberals forget to keep quiet and make public what is really going on.

Richard Lindzen is an MIT physicist whose scientific investigations make him sceptical about Global Warming. But his significant scientific pedigree does not matter to those less qualified who believe otherwise. He recently told the GreenHellBlog that after a house fire he approached a Boston art appraiser to value an antique rug.

However it was amusing only until we asked a number of US companies to work for us. We needed companies to make DVDs and provide translated subtitles for our new documentary Not Evil Just Wrong. Just like Professor Lindzen it challenges liberal orthodoxy - taking a critical look at environmentalism and Global Warming hysteria.

And just like Professor Lindzen we felt the chill hand of discrimination. One of the companies, in the midst of the biggest recessions in living memory, said "our order was too big" and declined to bid for the contract.

However, the Atlanta based International Services translation company really gave the game away when in an email they explained why they were refusing to provide us with their services.

CEO Sue Ellen Reager stated:

"I have researched your film on the web, and do not see scientific reviews or major press reviews in support (may be too early), and needed that support to assure cooperation from our translators. Because we translate with highly educated people around the world, located in countries like Germany and France, who take Global Warming very seriously, I am fairly sure that several countries will refuse to participate in this project."

In a follow up telephone conversation Ms Reager explained to "you guys in Europe" how the system really worked.

Ms Reager and her company have "worked in Hollywood for years" she explained. Their client list includes CNN, Turner Broadcasting, Google and Microsoft.

Speaking on the phone Ms Reager said that in the email she was "just being nice" to us because we were Europeans and that she was worried that the film might be like some of the "Republican shit" that gets released in the US.

The real problem is with those pesky Republicans in the US who insist on making films that she and Hollywood don't agree with.

Hollyweird Hits Information Highway Roadblock

Wikipedia, which characterizes itself as "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit," might need to tack a slight addendum on to the end of that description: "unless that anyone happens to log in from a computer owned by the Church of Scientology."

According to the Register, the administrators of Wikipedia have decided to ban all editors who log on to the site from IP addresses owned by the Church of Scientology. Some of those administrators have claimed, according to the Register, that those spunky Scientologists have been "damaging Wikipedia's reputation for neutrality" by delving into biased self-promotion. Scientology, a 55-year-old religion founded by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, has gained both notoriety and criticism in recent years as celebrity members like Tom Cruise and John Travolta have become increasingly vocal.

This does not mark Wikipedia's first attempt to quelch zealots in the Scientology debate. In the past, site administrators have banned several determinedly anti-Scientology accounts from editing entries related to the religion. Due to the prohibitively time-consuming nature of identifying specific editors and banning them from specific pages, though, Wikipedia has elected to prohibit any and all editorial action taken via Church IPs.

While many Web philosophers are bound to woundedly cry "Free speech!" in response to such an issue as this, we must take a different stance. Whether or not Wikipedia was right in taking such broadly prohibitive measures, Wikipedia certainly has the right to do so. The more dependent on massive media companies we become, the more we need to accept that such companies -- at the end of the day -- are companies, after all, and are beholden to themselves, not the people. [From: The Register]

The Bitter American has long been an opponent to what I believe is an anti-Catholic Hollywood liberal cabal with entirely too much sway in American politics. Good for Wikipedia!

DoubleStandarddradnatSelbuoD in Gay Old Hollywood?

As beauty pageant officials and gay-rights advocates increase the pressure on Miss California USA to back off her controversial comments opposing same-sex marriage, Carrie Prejean is not retracting them. Instead, she’s digging in her spike heels and fighting back.

“I was attacked for giving my own opinion on the stage of the Miss USA contest. And I’m going to do whatever it takes to protect marriage. It’s something that is very dear to my heart,” Prejean told TODAY’s Matt Lauer Thursday in an exclusive interview from Washington, D.C.

(snip)

“In the entire history of Miss USA, no reigning title holder has so readily committed her face and voice to a more divisive or polarizing issue,” the organizers said in a statement issued to the media. “We are deeply saddened Carrie Prejean has forgotten her platform of the Special Olympics, her commitment to all Californians, and solidified her legacy as one that goes beyond the right to voice her beliefs and instead reveals her opportunistic agenda.”

Opportunistic agenda?? Hmmm,..then what do you call Perez Hilton's pr-gay marriage stance that denied Prejean her crown??
