Jewish Newspaper Removes Clinton From Iconic Photo

'Der Tzitung' won't publish photos of women

Following the raid on Osama bin Laden, Hasidic newspaper Der Tzitung ran the iconic White House Situation Room photo, with just one teensy change: There were no women in it. The paper removed Hillary Clinton as well as Counterterrorism Director Audrey Tomason, as noted by Failed Messiah last week. The story was picked up today by the Jewish Week, Jezebel, and Styleite, among others.

On the Jewish Week, Rabbi Jason Miller notes that Der Tzitung is an “ultra-orthodox” paper that “will not intentionally include any images of women in the paper because it could be considered sexually suggestive.” But based on Clinton’s pose, Miller isn’t sure how or why the editors deemed the image racy: “Perhaps they just don't like the idea of a woman with that much political power.” Compare the original and edited versions of the photo here.

Sorry, but ANY story using "Hillary Clinton" and "sexually suggestive" in the same stroy makes me lose my dinner!!

The conservative Daily Caller is tickled that Michael Moore is back for a return visit to a luxury fat camp in Miami. It ticks off features of the $4,500-a-week spa such as "aqua-thermal bathing experiences" and "Finnish saunas" and concludes: "It is unknown whether the Communist Cuban health care system, which Moore has praised, offers its citizens refreshing stays at luxurious weight loss resorts." Sarah Silverman: Fox Is a 24-Hour 'Racism Machine'

Racists in today's mainstream media don't go around praising the Klan, they appear on Fox News saying President Obama was born in Africa, according to Sarah Silverman. "The entire Fox News Channel is a 24-hour-a-day racism engine, but it’s all coded, all implied," she writes in her new book, Bedwetter. "Lou Dobbs used to scream on CNN about ‘immigration,’ not ‘filthy Mexicans.’”

Silverman slams the Tea Party movement and says the coded nature of racism in the right-wing media makes it harder to combat, Newsbusters reports. But Silverman's not the only one taking potshots, reports Mediaite. “Sarah’s anger is understandable having recently lost her television show," responded a Fox spokesman. "We sympathize with her need for attention considering her book is languishing near 300 on Amazon.com.”
