Anti-ACLU Rant of the Week 4/28/05

Giving time over to Jay777 and the Stop the ACLU blog:

This week's anti-ACLU rant concerns the actions of the ACLU in aiding and abetting terrorists.

First, for a unique, and thought-provoking, view of how the TSA is failing to secure our skies, read this book:

Flying Blind by Michael Smerconish

Perhaps there is no other issue as fragile to the preservation of our liberties than a careful balance between civil liberties and our national security. To its credit, the ACLU recognizes the danger if the scales are tipped too far to the side of national security, however it doesn't seem to acknowledge the danger if the scales are reversed.

Now, some pointers on how the ACLU is destroying our fight against terror:

  • As many of you know, I support the Minuteman Project. These volunteers are sitting on our Southern border, not only stemming the tide of illegal aliens, but also those of Middle Eastern origin, attempting to sneak in with them. Not surprisingly, the ACLU is challenging the Minutemen in court to stop their actions. (read more here)
  • This piece from Boston.com: NEW YORK -- The American Civil Liberties Union has turned down $1.15 million in funding from the Ford and Rockefeller foundations, saying new anti-terrorism restrictions demanded by the institutions make it unable to accept their funds. (snip) The ACLU's move is an apparent reaction to new restrictive language by both foundations. The Ford Foundation now bars recipients of its funds from engaging in any activity that "promotes violence, terrorism, bigotry, or the destruction of any state." The Rockefeller Foundation's provisions state that recipients of its funds may not "directly or indirectly engage in, promote, or support other organizations or individuals who engage in or promote terrorist activity."
  • MEDIC MUSING: Could that be because the ACLU has, in the past, defended groups such as the PLO and people such as Moammar Ghaddaffi and Yasser Arafat?
  • This piece from Front Page Magazine: The ACLU's War Against National Security (snip) "After 9-11, the ACLU and its leftist cohorts spearheaded a movement to depict the US in general – and the airline industry in particular – as a snake pit of bigoted vipers eager to abuse and humiliate Muslims and Middle Easterners. The statistics, however, tell quite another story. During the nine months immediately following 9-11, the ADC received a mere 60 reports of incidents where airline security personnel prevented "Arab-looking" male passengers from flying as scheduled. (Snip)From 9-11 to the present day, the ACLU has vigorously opposed every governmental attempt to more effectively protect the American people's security. (Again,..read "Flying Blind!")

The ACLU is Two-Faced!

Mais, non! That can't be!

Giving a hat-tip to the gents at Conservative Angst for this one:

LAW OF THE LAND
ACLU caught red-handed?
Changes view of precedent when it favors Christian group

I'm not going to republish this one, just give a brief review. Let's just say it gives yet another reason to call them the Anti-Christian Lovers Union!

Apparently, when a Washington State high school tried to stop a GLBT club from forming, the ACLU chimed in on the side of the gays, stating the case "makes it clear that student clubs promoting tolerance for gay students are entitles to the same resources as other clubs."

Now, comes Kentridge HS of Kent, Washington. They wish to form the Truth Bible Club and the school board has rejected the formation, stating the club name is "offensive."

Think the ACLU is going to jump in and apply the same policy as the Washington GLBT clubs?

BZZZZ! Nope!

In fact, the ACLU has filed an amicus brief in favor of the school board. Apparently, now that the same ruling can be applied to a conservative-base club, the ACLU wants the original ruling (Prince v. Jacoby) reversed.

The ACLU insists Prince should be overruled to avoid giving Truth any benefits beyond the right to meet on campus.

Like I said,..the ACLU is two-faced? Mais,..oui!

Christophobia and the EU

Anne Applebaum of the WaPo editorial staff wrote an interesting column this week that got my sleep-deprived brain grinding away.

"Europe's "Christophobia" poses challenge for Pope"

The term "Christophobia" is cited by Catholic scholar George Weigel, borrowing the term from J.H.H. Weiler, a South African-born American legal scholar.

Mr. Weigel's recent book, The Cube and the Cathedral, lists several sources of what Miss Applebaum terms "this very powerful, very profound and very European - as opposed to American - antipathy."

Among Mr. Weigel's sources are:
  • The experience of the Holocaust, which many European intellectuals concluded was the logical outcome of Christian bigotry through the centuries;
  • The dissapointment still felt among European leftists over the collapse of European communism, which many 'blame' in part on the church;
  • The legacy of the 1968 rebellions, which opposed traditional authority of all kinds;
  • Europeans' tendency to associate the church with the "right" in general and Christian Democratic political parties in particular.
Miss Applebaum also adds "To this, I would add one more: Europe's present associations of "religiosity" with "America," and in particular with George W. Bush, who still scores reliably high negatives in opinion polls across the continent."

To this, I'll add a portion of the Amazon.com review of "The Cube and the Cathedral:"

Catholic neoconservative Weigel maintains that the weighty preamble to the European Union's proposed constitution demonstrates what is wrong with Europe. The document doesn't mention Christianity as a factor in the formation of Europe, instead touting the nonreligious influences of the pre-Christian ancients and the Enlightenment. The omission produced heated debate but little rewriting, indicating, Weigel says, elite Europeans' hostility to Christianity and reflecting the union's bureaucratic orientation against politics, especially the democracy that Christianity, with its concern for individual human dignity, fosters uniquely among the great world religions.

Medic's Musings:

While the United States, and American Catholics, will probably always be at odds with the Vatican, let us remember what the basis is for our own antipathy:

The United States is, both constitutionally and ideologically, a secular nation. However, our Founding Fathers built our system of laws based on the very basics of Judeo-Christian tenants. Our Constitution guarantees that no particular religion is in an ascendency over others. We, as Americans may have a "my way or the highway" mentality that sometimes collides with religious ideology, but we still invoke the name of God in our currency, our oath before testimony, and (no thanks to the ACLU) our Pledge of Allegiance.

Unlike Europe, in the United States, our Bill of Rights gives us the ability to express our disagreements over religious doctrine (Catholic vs Protestant, Christianity vs Judaism or Islam, etc), but we also provide for significant punishment for acting out on those disagreements.

Does the European Union have the same provisions? Of course not, in the EU, God doesn't legally exist, right?

A Black Eye for CNN

(link inserted into title)

I normally don't give much currency to lightweight columnist Karen Heller at the Philly Inkwaster, but this week's column got my attention:

Local news or CNN? We can't tell

Despite its global reach and talent pool, the network delivers little more than mush.

By Karen Heller
Inquirer Columnist

(snip)

It's become blood sport to knock Fox News, political shoutfests, and the pancaked heads of local broadcasts. And, honestly, without them, where would Jon Stewart or any other comedian be?

(snip)

CNN, though, is the cosmic joke, so large no one takes notice. Despite vast resources, global domination and no reality shows eating precious airtime, the network has imported the worst aspects of existing blather.

(snip)

Early-morning anchor Carol Costello sighs over tragedies as though they were puppies, her face collapsed in a continuous hanky of concern. The American Morning team is a Christopher Guest parody, specializing in flat banter, with Jack Cafferty as an aging dollar-store curmudgeon.

(snip)

All that talent, that neverending airtime, and 25 years later, the network hasn't a clue.

Now,..Miss Heller doesn't quite get away from me without a quick rap on the knuckles. Her MSM/neo-Soc side shows in these comments:

This was never so obvious as with the death of John Paul II, which received continuous coverage even though the visuals were sorely lacking and developments, nonexistent. Hours, then days later, he was still dead and virtually all of CNN was there, showing hours of the faithful lined up in St. Peter's Square. It was like Chevy Chase's old comment about Generalísimo Francisco Franco being still dead.

It was a big story, but not the only one. There was surely news elsewhere - if memory serves, there is a war - but CNN harnessed its global squadron to air continuous live coverage of the dead 84-year-old pontiff, importing heavyweights Larry King and the nonpareil Christiane Amanpour, whose expertise lies elsewhere.

Makes you wonder,....doesn't it?

And God Created it All,...

Story "borrowed" from TheFed:

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth and populated the Earth with broccoli, cauliflower and spinach, green and yellow and red vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives.

Then using God's great gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and Krispy Creme Donuts. And Satan said, "You want chocolate with that?" And Man said, "Yes!" and Woman said, "and as long as you're at it, add some sprinkles." And they gained 10 pounds. And Satan smiled.

And God created the healthful yogurt that Woman might keep the figure that Man found so fair. And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat, and sugar from the cane and combined them. And Woman went from size 6 to size 14.

So God said, "Try my fresh green salad." And Satan presented Thousand-Island Dressing, buttery croutons and garlic toast on the side.

And Man and Woman unfastened their belts following the repast.

God then said, "I have sent you heart healthy vegetables and olive oil in which to cook them." And Satan brought forth deep fried fish and chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter. And Man gained more weight and his cholesterol went through the roof.

God then created a light, fluffy white cake, named it "Angel Food Cake," and said, "It is good." Satan then created chocolate cake and named it "Devil's Food."

God then brought forth running shoes so that His children might lose those extra pounds. And Satan gave cable TV with a remote control so Man would not have to toil changing the channels. And Man and Woman laughed and cried before the flickering blue light and gained pounds.

Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming with nutrition. And Satan peeled off the healthful skin and sliced the starchy center into chips and deep-fried them. And Man gained pounds.

God then gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and still satisfy his appetite. And Satan created McDonald's and its 99-cent double cheeseburger. Then said, "You want fries with that?" And Man replied,"Yes!

And super size them!" And Satan said, "It is good." And Man went into cardiac arrest.

God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery. Then Satan created HMOs.

Viva il Papa's Got a Brand New Bag!

Well,...it didn't take long for the MSM to stomp on Pope Benedict XVI, did it?

Today, Katie Couric and Co. interviewed a man who registered the URL www.popebenedictxvi.com. This guy compared seeing the smoke and awaiting the new Pope's name to watching the Kentucky Derby!

Now, mind you, I'm not a prude, but do we really need to cheapen the Papacy with who won lotteries and bets???

And speaking of cheap shots and Miss Couric (no,..that isn't a coincidence):

From MediaResearch.org:

On Monday morning, Katie Couric asserted that Ratzinger is "known to be quite conservative. He's been called 'God's rottweiler' because of his strict adherence to Catholic doctrine and 'The Enforcer' as well."

and,..

3. Couric Distorts Poll to Say Most Want "Less Conservative" Church
NBC's Katie Couric asserted on Monday morning that "according to a recent poll, 78 percent of American Catholics would like the Catholic Church to be less conservative," but the only current poll the MRC could locate with such a finding was an early April CNN/USA Today/Gallup survey of Catholics which found 78 percent said the next Pope should "allow Catholics to use birth control." But Couric cherry-picked the number she liked since the poll also determined that when asked if the next Pope should "make church doctrine on abortion less strict," only 37 percent said he should compared to 59 percent who responded that he should not. And, contradicting Couric's thesis, asked directly if the next Pope should be "more conservative than John Paul II, about the same, or more liberal than John Paul II?", 59 percent endorsed the conservative status quo.

Also,..the Nazi references have started to rear their ugly heads:

On Sunday, NBC's Jim Maceda referred to "the ultraconservative Ratzinger" and reported that "he was briefly a member of Hitler's youth group in Nazi Germany."

and,...

Couric reminded Greeley that "Ratzinger's past includes a brief membership in the Hitler Youth movement" and service "with the German army in World War II" and demanded: "Given his past associations do you think that will create a rift between Christians and Jews and what can he do to fix that?"

Ignoring, of course, that MOST German teens were MANDATED to join the HJ! And while in the Army, Cardinal Ratzinger went AWOL, surrendered and spent the balance of WWII in an American POW camp.

Funny how the MSM gets selective amnesia, huh?

Anti-ACLU Rant of the Week 4/21/05

Giving time over to Jay777 and the Stop the ACLU Blog:
This week's topic is one near and dear to me: The ACLU's take on the Second Amendment.

When the Founding Fathers established the Bill of Rights, look at the first two things they took into consideration:

First, the ability to assemble and speak your mind in public, even when it is in opposition to the government's policies!

Second, the ability to defend your opinions (and the other stipulations posited in the First Amendment) against an armed government instrument (something quite common in 17th- and 18th-Century Europe)

Of course, these two pillars of American society worked well, until the ACLU came along.

We know the ACLU's views on free speech, so I won't beat that dead horse here.

Let's look at the ACLU's views on the Second Amendment:

"Why doesn't the ACLU support an individual's
unlimited right to keep and bear arms?"

(snip)

We believe that the constitutional right to bear arms is primarily a collective one, intended mainly to protect the right of the states to maintain militias to assure their own freedom and security against the central government.

Hmmm,... a "collective" right? "Collective" is a well-used Socialist buzzword.

(snip)

The national ACLU is neutral on the issue of gun control. We believe that the Constitution contains no barriers to reasonable regulations of gun ownership. If we can license and register cars, we can license and register guns.

Define "reasonable regulations," please. I think the following portion will show you where the ACLU sits on this one:

ACLU POLICY
"The ACLU agrees with the Supreme Court's long-standing interpretation of the Second Amendment [as set forth in the 1939 case, U.S. v. Miller] that the individual's right to bear arms applies only to the preservation or efficiency of a well-regulated militia. Except for lawful police and military purposes, the possession of weapons by individuals is not constitutionally protected. Therefore, there is no constitutional impediment to the regulation of firearms." --Policy #47

Ri-i-ing! Hello? Big Brother is calling! "Lawful police and military purposes?" This flies in the face of multiple legal rulings stating the police collectively protect the public and are not solely responsible for the welfare of individuals. That said, this is the true, driving force of the Second Amendment:

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free
State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
The Second Amendment to the Constitution

And the ACLU's interpretation?

"Since the Second Amendment. . . applies only to the right of the State to
maintain a militia and not to the individual's right to bear arms, there
can be no serious claim to any express constitutional right to possess a firearm."

Their basis for this argument?
The 1939 case U.S. v. Miller is the only modern case in which the Supreme Court has addressed this issue.

1939?? What year is it now? (TM checks the calendar...) Oh, yeah, 2005!

Surely there must be another ruling out there:

"We find that the history of the Second Amendment reinforces the plain
meaning of its text, namely that it protects individual Americans in
their right to keep and bear arms whether or not they are a member of
a select militia or performing active military service or training."
Fifth Circuit of Appeals 2001

AH-H-H-H,..that's closer to modern-day society.

"The only modern case?" I did some research (So did Jay777,..hat tip) and found 30-plus Appellate and Supreme Court opinions on the Second Amendment.

Again,...the ACLU needs to be stopped! They are chiseling away at our rights and freedoms on at a time! They are the "Iron Fist Inside the Velvet Glove!"

I end this rant quoting Thomas Jefferson again:
"No freeman shall ever be debarred the use of arms." --Thomas Jefferson

Another hat-tip to Jay777 (a fellow follower of TJ) for finding that quote!

Border Patrol Blames ACLU

From WorldNetDaily:
The largest local union of Border Patrol agents in the country has declared its support for the Minuteman Project in Arizona, while at the same time slamming both the American Civil Liberties Union and President Bush.

According to its website, the U.S. Border Patrol Local 2544, which covers the Tucson sector of the agency, the volunteers involved in the border-monitoring Minuteman Project have been nothing but supportive.

(snip)

The group blames the ACLU for setting off ground sensors in the area of the Minutemen activities:

Today marks the passing of former NFL player, Sam Mills.

Sam played in town as part of the USFL Philadelphia Stars years ago.

Sam was only 5'9" and was passed over by just about every professional team in the US and Canada.

Over the years, Sam proved that it wasn't size (as in stature), but the size of your heart that gets you ahead in this game.

God speed, Sam.

From the "No S**t" Files

Couple of no-brainers here:

1)Magazine calls Street one of worst mayors

Time's not on his side.

Inquirer staff and wire reports

According to Time magazine, Mayor Street is one of the country's worst mayors.

According to Street supporters, the magazine has it wrong.

In an issue that hits newsstands today, the magazine gives props to what it considers the nation's "best big-city mayors" - New York's Michael Bloomberg, Atlanta's Shirley Franklin, Baltimore's Martin O'Malley, Chicago's Richard Daley, and Denver's John Hickenlooper.

Detroit's Kwame Kilpatrick and San Diego's Dick Murphy joined Street on the magazine's "worst three" list.

Street allies called the ranking criteria "arbitrary" and "inconsistent," and the magazine's analysis "sloppy."

Medic's Musing:
"Street allies" is a euphemism for "pay-to-play" ass-kissers (commonly called Democrats here is Philly)

From the CBC Feed:

CALGARY - Calgary's police chief Jack Beaton has used a rare legal tactic to seize a computer from a private home that was believed to have been used to operate a website critical of Beaton and his senior managers.

Beaton obtained a civil court order this month to enter the home of a civilian police employee and seize the computer.

Where's the ACLU Now?

Not that I'm supporting them,..just pointing out more of their hypocrisy,...

Taken from Zebra Report:

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA, April 14, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A high school student wearing a t-shirt that stated: (front) "Tolerance is the virtue of believing in nothing", and (back) "Truth is truth - homosexuality is wrong" was threatened with suspension. The 'A' student, with no history of discipline problems, was removed from class and sent to the principal's office where she was told to change shirts or leave campus.

Her parents called the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI). "It is regrettable when parents have to choose which right their child will be deprived of - free speech or a public education," said Kevin Snider, Chief Counsel for PJI. One of PJI's attorneys immediately called the school and faxed a letter that same day explaining how students have First Amendment rights which follow them when they step onto a school campus.

(snip)

PJI informed school officials that the student will continue to wear that shirt, and other shirts expressing her values and beliefs, at her discretion. The school has since stopped harassing this student.

Medic Musing:

I guess if the same student had a "I hate moral, Christian students" shirt on, the ACLU wouldv'e pounced on this case in a heartbeat?

Anti-ACLU Rant of the Week 4/14/05

Once again,..giving time over to Jay777 and the Anti-ACLU Blog:

Let me make one thing perfectly clear. While
Roger
Baldwin
, the founder of the ACLU, had strong Communist ties and
even declared it as his ultimate goal, he was never actually a member
of the Communist party.

Unfortunately, the same can not be said about those who joined him to
form the organization. His first Board of Directors were Elizabeth
Gurly Flynn
and William Z.
Foster
, both of whom would later head the Communist Party in
America.

Baldwin was very open about his goals, unlike many of today's ACLU
leaders. They try to rewrite Baldwin's history as a simple
"flirtation" with Communism that only lasted a brief period.

However, Roger grew up in a family of radicals and socialists, and at
the ripe age of fifty he said, "I am for socialism, disarmament,
and ultimately for abolishing the State itself as an instrument for
violence and compulsion. I seek the social ownership of property, the
abolition of the propertied class and sole control of those who
produce wealth. Communism is the goal
."

He made his first trip to Russia in 1923. After returning, in his book
Liberty Under the Soviets, Roger admitted that their government had
instituted "complete censorship of all means of communications and
the complete supression of any organized opposition to the
dictatorship or its program
."

So, did this supposed champion of civil liberties condemn these
actions? Not at all!

He said, "Repression in Western democracies are violations of
proffessed constitutional liberties and I condemn them as such.
Repressions in Soviet Russia are weapons of struggle in a transition
period to Socialsim
."

In 1934, Baldwin wrote in the Soviet Russia
Today
,"When that power of the working class is once
achieved, as it has been only in the Soviet Union, I am for
maintaining it by any means whatever
."

The ACLU reflected this attitude. Of the ACLU Board members elected
during its first sixty years, almost eighty percent had Communist
affiliations. Ninety percent of its cases involved defending
Communists.

As a result, it was labeled a "Communist-Front", and came under the
investigation of the House Un-American Activities Committee.

On August 20, 1939 Roger was betrayed by his greatest hero, Josef
Stalin. Stalin signed a non-aggression pact with Adolf Hitler.

In 1940, the ACLU felt a need to distance itself from the Communist
Party, at least in public perception. In what is known as the 1940
Resolution, the ACLU Board declared it "inappropriate for any
person to serve on the governing committees of the Union or its Staff,
who is a member of any political organization which supports
totalitarian dictatorship in any country, or who by his public
declarations indicates his support of such a principle
."Source

This was very unfortunate for Elizabeth Gurly Flynn, who was a member
of the Communist Party at the time of the 1940 Resolution.

It would be nice if this were the end of the story, however by the
mid-1960's the ACLU no longer felt the need to seperate itself from
Communism. So, in 1967, the board voted to effectively rescind the
1940 Resolution and welcomed communists back into the Union. They
later rescinded Flynn's purge, and elevated her to "hero" status.

They came under investigation again and were debated in Congress in
1961.Source

Despite all the the denials to the contrary, the evidence is
overwhelming that the ACLU is still working toward the end goal of
Communism.

William Kunstler, as a member of the National Advisory Counsel stated,
"I am a double agent, working within the system to bring down the
system."

Just study it's policies and case history and it is obvious they still
seek Communist and socialist goals.

Unfortunatley, many Americans are still fooled, and hold the members
of this organization as heros. In 1981, Jimmy Carter awarded
Roger Baldwin the Medal of Freedom
-the nation's highest
civilian honor.Source

Help us wake America up to the goals of the ACLU! We are trying to
raise money to help expose the ACLU through advertisments and
commercials. It is very expensive. Please help us with what you can.

Did the Eagles Actually WIN the Super Bowl?

(Feeling a little parochial this week)
So,...my beloved Wings LOST (AGAIN)!!!!

But not according to the Philadelphia Daily Fishwrapper,...I mean, Daily News.

Wannabee-Medic Mike was reading the DN and started laughing. Down on page 88 of today's DN,...there's a small blurb about the game!

According to some faceless, crack-smoking sports writer, the Wings came back and avenged their loss to Toronto here in Philly on Saturday night! Funny, that's not what I watched on Comcast Sports Net!

(Unfortunately, there's no link to append to this rant. Apparently, the DN took it down before I could get home. We BOTH called the sports desk to crucify them over this error)

No,...instead, I'm talking about the City's move to close a total of eight fire companies and activate 10 more EMS units.

Yeah,..OK,...so what is the PFD going to do when a major fire breaks out? Have one of the medic units respond and throw 1000 cc bags of saline on it until the first-due engine company finally arrives??

Yeah,...nice going Mayor S**thead,...I mean, Street.

Positive Results from the MMP

(Fox News link inserted into title)

As reported in the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin,

As Volunteers Head To Mexican Border, Illegal Crossings Drop By Half
By Olga R. Rodriguez

The number of Mexican migrants trying to sneak into the United States through the Arizona border has dropped by half since hundreds of American civilians began guarding the area earlier this week, say Mexican officials assigned to protect their citizens.

(snip)

Before Minuteman Project volunteers began patrolling, Mexican officials encountered at least 400 undocumented migrants daily. On Monday, the second day Minutemen were present, they spotted just 198, said Bertha de la Rosa of Grupo Beta, a Mexican government-sponsored group that discourages people from crossing illegally and aids those stranded in the desert.

April 6, 2005--Sixty-three percent (63%) of Americans say it is somewhat or very likely that Senator Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee in 2008.

With this in mind, Rasmussen Reports is launching the Hillary Meter--a twice monthly measure of Senator Hillary Clinton's effort to move to the political center. For as long as the former First Lady is a viable candidate for the White House, we will continue to monitor public perceptions of her political ideology.

(snip)

The first edition of the Hillary Meter finds that Senator Clinton has been somewhat successful in moderating her image over the past couple of months. Currently, 43% of Americans view the former First Lady as politically liberal. That's down from 51% at the end of January.

Medic's Musing:

She's moving towards the "center" thanks to the BS from the MSM.

Marburg Spreads in Angola as Death Toll Hits 174

(link attached to title)

GENEVA (Reuters) - The World Health Organization (WHO) Friday called for stepping up measures in Angola to halt the further spread of the deadly Marburg virus, which has killed 174 people mainly in the north of the country.

The United Nations agency said a first case of the incurable disease had been found in Kuanza Sul, the sixth province in the northwest to be hit, while a suspect death was also under investigation in neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo.

Medic's Musings:
I know disease doesn't acknowledge borders, politics, or social status, but with the UNtied Nations involved, I have to seriously ponder how soon politics will overtake the need to stop this epidemic?

Iran Opposition Declares End to Mullah Rule

(link inserted into title)

Found this at Regime Change Iran:

From World Net Daily:

"We, the 70 million people of Iran, hereby joyfully and unequivocally declare that your time has come to an end, and we demand that you submit to the will of the Iranian people and peacefully surrender the power to its rightful owners, the people of Iran, immediately," states the letter. "We no longer consider you our legitimate government and hereby warn all foreign governments that all transactions and contracts signed with this government after June 16, 2005, will be null and void."

Anti-ACLU Rant of the Week 4/7/05 - Part 2

OK,..officially giving time over to Jay777 at Stop the ACLU!

We
Want You...To Join The Fight!
Many of you may not know that
this site is part of a larger effort to expose the ACLU and fight
their radical agenda. Our site is the official blog of Stop The ACLU.Org. This
organization is working hard to organize and mobilize citizens to
stand up and fight the ACLU. We are organizing rallies, protests,
petitions, and more. We are just getting started and need your help.
We have a newsletter, that you can recieve too if you want to be a
part of things. Our first newsletter just went out recently. Following
is that newsletter with the contact information for you if you would
like to recieve it.

STOP THE ACLU COALITION

KEEPING AMERICA SAFE & FREE FROM THE ACLU

Dear Friends:

At long last, I am proud to send you our very first Stop the ACLU
Coalition newsletter. Thank you for your patience in getting this
effort off the ground. Some of you likely thought after the avalanche
of e-mails due to our
story on World Net Daily in November
and my promises to get in
touch with you that I would never follow thru. I deeply regret the
long delays but I assure you this much - this issue burns deep within
my heart and soul and my desire to rid America of the ACLU has not
diminished one bit.

This newsletter will be rather short but it will cover some very
important items, one in particular being a rally held here in Illinois
in April. More on that shortly.

Like any other online newsletter, we want to follow proper Internet
protocol. Although we hope each of you will stay with us til our
mission is accomplished (which will be a long time unless by some
miracle of God it's cut short), there will always be an opt out in
every newsletter. Opt outs can be done by sending a "remove" note to
number1nedd@hotmail.com.
(Use this same email to sign up for the
newsletter
.)Please do not use the Stop the ACLU webmail
for these requests. It is my hope that no one will ever leave us so I
kindly ask you to stay with us. We need each of you in this battle of
epic proportions.

Next, please - if you are changing your e-mail address, please let us
know by writing me at the Hotmail address above. Give us the old and
new addresses and we'll make the necessary changes. We always want to
give you the latest on ACLU items. We don't want to lose anyone. Don't
change your address without telling us. Thanks.

And if you have your own web site and it is not posted on my News & Links
page
, please send me an e-mail to this address (not the Hotmail
address) with the name of your site. Some of you I promised I would
put your links up but due to the hundreds of e-mails I've received, I
likely have missed a few. For this, I deeply apologize.

I have read every e-mail that has been sent to me and though I have
not been able to respond to you all, I want you to know that I share
your concerns about the ACLU attacking religion, patriotism, the Boy
Scouts, marriage, sanctity of life and undermining our efforts on
national security. Recent stories about the ACLU supporting nudist
camps for teens in Virginia, suing to overturn Michigan's ban on
partial birth abortion (which a citizens' initiative brought to pass)
and attacking the Boy Scouts are extremely irritating to me. The
information on these stories is not posted yet on the site but will be
after I return from a weekend trip to Missouri. The ACLU is an
extremely dangerous organization and they must be stopped at all
costs.

We have gotten e-mails and petitions from every state in the union
except, for some odd reason, Kentucky. So if you know some folks in
Kentucky who oppose the ACLU, send them this way. We have also heard
from individuals outside of America, including Canada, Mexico, Cyprus,
Germany, Poland, Singapore and from the other side of the world, New
Zealand. Those of you in these countries getting this e-mail, thank
you very much for your support of America and our cause.

I have read each of your suggestions and ideas how to improve the web
site, what to and not to include and what issues to or not to cover
regarding the ACLU. Though I can't please everyone, I assure you that
I have taken each of your thoughts into consideration and will
continue to do so as you share them with me. Some that I have are
approved of are not yet implemented but will be so in the coming
weeks. I appreciate the thought that went into each of your messages.
More so, I appreciate your concern for abolishing the ACLU.

I want you to know that our plans for marches on every ACLU
office in America are still on. More info will follow in the coming
weeks. We are also still getting petitions from off the web site that
are being mailed to us. I sincerely thank each of you have done so. If
you haven't sent yours, please do so today. The info is on the web
site.

A few of you have given me names of groups, organizations and
individuals who are tied to the ACLU. Thank you if you were involved
in this effort. We have just scratched the surface. So if you have
groups and people who are doing business with the ACLU, please e-mail
the information to me with links or other evidence and it will be
posted on the web site.

More items will follow in our next newsletter which will be in a
couple weeks. The feature of this e-mail concerns a rally in
Champaign, IL on April 9th. Some of the information is posted at the
very top of the home page. Details are still forthcoming as to
specifics of what actions will be taken, picketing, meetings, etc. Be
sure to check the site often. An updated e-mail will come also in a
week or so.

We are working to secure a couple high profile individuals who have
vast experience in opposing the ACLU agenda or who have strong
knowledge of the ACLU's workings to speak at our rally on the 9th. In
addition, for those in Chicago, we are working hard to secure one of
the deejays at WLS-AM who recently offered her services to our cause.

If you live in Illinois, we need to hear from you. We want you to come
to Champaign on the 9th. And although this is concerning the agenda of
the Illinois ACLU (some of which can be found on the News & Links
page), therefore preferring Illinois citizens to come, this is by no
means excluding anyone from other states who want to be part of this
rally. One individual from Minnesota told me he plans to be here on
the 9th if we have a good turnout. So if you live in a neighboring
state - Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri or Kentucky or further and
would like to come, send me a note that you will be coming. I would
like to see 100 of us out there but can we make it 1000? If you live
in Illinois, please plan on coming. And if you have friends, family or
contacts in your address book here in Illinois, make sure they know
about this rally. Pass the word along.

And if you know of someone who can come on the 9th and speak to the
rally - lawyer, public policy specialist, lawmaker - anyone who fits
the above criteria, have them contact me. We need people right away,
especially if the contacts I am hoping will come don't pan out.

There will be a modest $5 per person donation at the rally requested
to cover the expenses of the rally and the resources at the Stop the
ACLU Coalition. Children 12 and younger don't have to be covered. For
families, the $5 donation per person will be up to a maximum of $25
for 5 people. Therefore, families with 6 or more people 13 years of
age and higher will be topped at $25. Hardship cases will be
considered as we will turn no one away, however, we trust the $5
donation will not create undue difficulty for anyone.
So please, give your recommendations for rally speakers or have them contact me.

Please consider coming to this inaugural summit, especially if you
live in or near Illinois or if you just want to show the ACLU you mean
business about stopping their agenda. And please tell everyone you
know about it, especially if they live in or near the Land of Lincoln.
Let's show the ACLU that there are hundreds, even thousands who oppose
what they stand for.

Finally, with regards to the forms and e-mails you sent me, many of
you were confused about certain items which created confusion. Some of
you filled forms out which were only for march coordinator or
assistants but didn't say if you were interested in being a
coordinator or helper for your states. If you are interested in either
coordinating or helping in another way, drop me a note and let me
know. More on this will be covered in a subsequent newsletter.

I will return your e-mail messages as soon as possible. Please help
make this site the best on the Internet and the number one site,
besides legal groups, fighting the ACLU agenda.

God bless you all.

Cordially,

Nedd Kareiva,
Director

Anti-ACLU Rant of the Week 4/7/05 - Part 1

Before I give over time to Jay777 and the Anti-ACLU weekly post, I want to get something ACLU-related off my chest:

I recently read a poll conducted by Philadelphia Magazine about teens and, after percolating through my Zol-Zac addled mind, I've come to this conclusion:

This is your brain:

This is your brain after the ACLU gets through with it:

  • Teaching sex education and protection is OK. Teaching abstinence is a Christian value and, therefore, not allowed in public schools.
  • When you do get abstinence into kids' heads, thanks to Bill Clinton, anal and oral sex aren't really sex, so STDs aren't capable of being spread, right?
  • Failing protective measures, if you get pregnant, you may commit murder on-demand. In many states, you don't even need the input of a rational adult (Mom,..Dad) before you do it.
  • When a rational adult gets involved, the newly-minted single mother is taught by the ACLU that welfare is a civil right, not a stop-gap towards becoming a productive citizen. The same welfare can be passed on to successive generations.

This is an ACLU-driven cycle of poverty and immoralty that must stop!

Stop the ACLU today!

By JOHN SOLOMON
WASHINGTON (AP) - Pursuing information they missed evidence a decade ago, FBI agents searched the former home of convicted Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols and found blasting caps and other explosive materials apparently related to the 1995 attack, officials said Friday.
