And the Bigger Dumb-A** Is,...??

NewsCore - New York Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis has been sued over a 2008 incident in which he allegedly threw a large snowball at a football fan's face, TMZ reported Monday.

According to the lawsuit, Ellis "stopped, picked up a large block or chunk of packed snow ... and threw it into the crowd" following a 2008 game against the Seattle Seahawks that saw the Jets eliminated from the playoffs. The snowball struck a man named Robert Larson in the face.

Larson alleges that Ellis targeted him with the snowball because he was waving a pro-Seahawks sign, which can be seen in a YouTube video of the incident. He is seeking undisclosed damages for physical injury, humiliation, mental distress, pain and loss of wages.

Notice, fans, that this mo-ron picked a NY-area stadium to throw a snowball at a fan.  At least he's smart enough to know not to do it in Philly, where your average Iggles fans comes pre-loaded with a six-pack of snowballs, all aimed at the opposition!

Repeat after me: Cliff Lee is the smartest man in baseball!!

It Must Be Dumbass Day!

It's always funny till somebody gets hurt—and that goes for professional baseball players hitting teammates in the face with shaving cream pies while they're giving postgame interviews. Chris Coghlan of the Florida Marlins is on the 15-day disabled list and may need knee surgery thanks to a pie-ing that went awry after Sunday's game, USA Today reports.

Wes Helms' game-winning RBI in the bottom of the 11th set off the celebration. "It happened as I was going to pie Wes in the face and when I jumped I landed on my knee wrong," Coghlan, last season's NL rookie of the year, told the Palm Beach Post. Manager Edwin Rodriguez has belatedly banned the pie ritual.

A Florida pastor whose Bible is apparently missing the page that explains the Golden Rule has big plans for the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks—his church will play host to "International Burn a Koran Day." The Dove World Outreach Center, which is known for the "Islam Is of the Devil" sign on its lawn in Gainesville, says Islam is "a violent and oppressive religion," Kyle Munzenrieder blogs for Miami New Times.

The pastor, Terry Jones, tells Religion News Service supporters have been mailing copies of the Koran to the church. Jones and his congregation have vehemently protested the election of a gay man as mayor of Gainesville, notes Edge Boston. They plan another event, for next month, cleverly named "No Homo Mayor." Asks Munzenrieder: "The Westboro Baptist Church currently holds the title of most insane thing purporting to be a Christian church in America, but could a small congregation of horribly misguided Christians in central Florida soon be taking their place?" For more on Westboro Baptist's recent escapades, click here.

Gentle readers: before you comment, know this: I'm no fan of Islamofascism, but it isn't the book that creates the hate, it's the hateful interpreter that twists the words to to justify the means.

WTF Are You Smoking??

So, some 2-digit IQ, dropped-on-his-head-frequently as a child, liberal named Brendan (of Brendan Calling) posted this today regarding the annual riot-fest known as the G-20 Meeting:

Then makes this comment:

Please! Let This Be True!

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is expected to quit later this year after growing weary of the "idealism" of Obama staffers who are just as frustrated with him, according to sources. He'll likely step down after midterm elections, reports the Telegraph. Emanuel still maintains a good relationship with the president, but his rapport with staffers is fatally frayed, sources said. "Nobody thinks it's working but they can't get rid of him—that would look awful," said a source.

His abrasive style and willingness to make major compromises have earned him White House enemies, who have also been frustrated by his inability to pave the way for the president's legislative agenda. "It might not be his fault, but the perception is there," said a political consultant. "Every vote has been tough, from health care to energy to financial reform. Democrats have not stood behind the president in the way Republicans did for Bush, and that was meant to be Rahm's job." It's not certain what Emanuel will do next, though he has expressed an interest in running for mayor of Chicago.

Bye! Eagle! Bye!

HIS VOICE betrayed no emotion, because, well, because he is Andy Reid.

At a little after 9:30 p.m. on Easter Sunday, the Eagles' coach settled in behind a microphone in the NovaCare auditorium, as reporters scurried for seats and TV cameras were hoisted onto tripods.

"OK, we're, ah, I'm here to announce we've traded Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins, for their second-round pick and then a pick next year, a fourth-round pick that can become a third-round pick next year," Reid said, in the same familiar tone that during the season heralds the listing of injuries.

And typical for clueless Fat Andy: one step forward (deep-sixing a ne'er-do-well, injured QB) and two steps back (keeping him the same division!)

A "Silent Mouth" Indeed,...

And the Obama "Insult Our Allies" Tour comes home,...

Vice President Biden added to his lengthy list of gaffes Wednesday when he took a moment to honor the memory of the Irish prime minister's mother -- a woman who's very much alive.

"God rest her soul," Biden said as he introduced Brian Cowen and President Obama at a St. Patrick's Day celebration at the White House Wednesday.

The vice president was quick to correct the mistake, noting that it's Cowen's father who is no longer living.

"Wait ... your mom’s still, your mom is still alive. It was your Dad (who) passed. God bless her soul. I gotta get this straight," Biden said.

After citing the Irish proverb that "a silent mouth is sweet to hear," he then yielded the podium to Obama.

And a few more reasons to remain silent, Slow Joe (courtesy of last night's laugh riot in front of the TV and Radio Correspondents Dinner):

Biden on his trip to Israel:
• It's great to be back at a place where a boom in housing construction is actually a good thing.

• Trying to negotiate a lasting peace between the Palestinians and Israelis is tough, but it's a hell of a nice break from health care.

Biden on Liz Cheney & the "Al-Qaida 7":
• I understand Liz Cheney is in the house... Liz has been on a tear lately. Now, she's questioning if Tom Brady is a real Patriot.

Biden on Fox News:
• You all know Saint Patrick was credited with banishing snakes from Ireland. But you guys all know the truth -- sometimes -- there were never any snakes in Ireland. Saint Patrick just made that up. Which for the first time explains, I realized, why he's the patron saint of Fox News.

Biden on GOP complaints that the health care bill is too long:
• Put yourself in their spot. Just ask Sarah, that's a hell of a lot to write on the palm of your hand.

Biden on the Recovery Act:
• Republicans say it hasn't created one job. Well, tell that to Scott Brown.

Where's the "Advancement" if You Constantly Award Failure?

White House green jobs adviser Van Jones quit the post last year after he was dogged by past remarks and associations, but that isn't stopping the NAACP from awarding him one of its Image Awards

Jones, who served as an adviser to the White House Council on Environmental Quality, generated mounting criticism last summer, first for calling Republicans "assholes" during a videotaped address earlier in the year and then for signing a petition in 2004 supporting the "9/11 truther" movement, which believes the Bush administration may have been involved in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

The latter development, which came on top of several others, was perhaps the most devastating and led to calls for his resignation.

But Jones still has his share of outspoken supporters, and one of them is Benjamin Todd Jealous, president and CEO of the NAACP.

"Van Jones is an American treasure," Jealous writes in an opinion piece posted at CNN.com. "He is quite simply one of the few Americans in recent years to have generated powerful new ideas that are creating new jobs."

The Nuts Don't Fall Far from the Trees, Huh?

AUSTIN, Texas — The daughter of a man who crashed his small plane into an Internal Revenue Service building called her father a hero for his anti-government views but said his actions, which killed a tax service employee, were "inappropriate."

Joe Stack's adult daughter, Samantha Bell, spoke to ABC's "Good Morning America" from her home in Norway. Asked during a phone interview broadcast Monday if she considered her father a hero, she said: "Yes. Because now maybe people will listen."

Authorities say Stack, 53, targeted the IRS office building in Austin last week, killing employee Vernon Hunter and himself, after posting a ranting manifesto against the agency and the government. He apparently set fire to his home before flying his plane into the office building.

"R" You Kidding?

More dumbing-down the dumbest transit system in the US?

Soon it may be time to say goodbye to SEPTA's R5 Regional Rail line. And the R3. And every other "R" line.

SEPTA won't get rid of the lines, just the R's.

The transit agency is making plans to replace the R designations with the ultimate destination names. So, the R8/Chestnut Hill West would become simply the Chestnut Hill West line, and the R8/Fox Chase would become just the Fox Chase line.

SEPTA says visitors and infrequent riders sometimes get on the wrong trains, confused by different lines with the same R designations.

If SEPTA follows through with the proposed name changes, they likely would be made in late July. Harry Garforth, SEPTA's manager of rail planning, described the changes at a meeting last week of the SEPTA Citizen Advisory Committee's Regional Rail subcommittee.

SEPTA spokesman Richard Maloney said no final decision had been made to remove the R designators.

"It's something we're leaning toward, but it's still under active discussion," he said.

I Guess Penny-Pinching Lower Eastside Jews and Drunken Southie Irish Aren't As Entertaining?

MTV announced late Friday that it has ordered a second season of Jersey Shore, its controversial yet wildly successful reality show about a group of youths who rent a beach house. The network ordered 12 more episodes that will begin airing this summer. The plan is to follow season 1’s Pauly D, Mike, Snooki, Jenni, Sammi, Ronnie, and Vinny as they “escape the cold northeast and find themselves in a new destination,” according to a network statement.

“Our audience has fallen in love with Jersey Shore and its amazing cast who have really grown together as a family,” said Tony DiSanto, MTV’s president of programming, in a statement. “That bond gives the show its heart, and we’re thrilled to reunite these friends.”

Racism! Racism!

Just for the record, I'm not trying to stir a racial pot and I'll stipulate that I'm one of a handful of whites in a mostly black neighborhood only as a matter of a point of reference.

So, this morning, I received a strange little advert flier in my door:

Note the comment in yellow at the bottom?

Yeah,..was that necessary? In this day and age? And can you imagine the outcry from Jerry Mondesire if someone dropped fliers in lily-white Chestnut Hill saying "White owned and operated?"

To quote the black man in the White House, some acted "stupidly."

And the Bush-Bashing Will begin in 5,...4,...3,...

"The system worked as it should have -- which is why it failed."

With a full-fledged review under way, top agencies are making immediate changes that suggest the system in place to flag suspected terrorists is fundamentally flawed -- even though officials say they followed procedure before a suspect armed with explosives boarded a Detroit-bound flight.

That appears to be the answer emerging from top agencies like the State Department in the aftermath of the failed Christmas Day airplane bombing, as officials explain how suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was able to clear security while armed with explosives and then board a flight bound for Detroit.

President Obama, who is meeting with agency heads Tuesday afternoon, said as much last week when he declared "systemic failure" allowed Abdulmutallab to board the plane bound for Detroit from Nigeria by way of Amsterdam. Other officials have since acknowledged that the system probably needs some adjustment.

"Systemic failure means that individuals probably weren't at fault, but that the systems that were put in place were not adequate to the task," said David Gordon, former director of policy planning at the State Department.

Obama was meeting Tuesday with top officials including Napolitano, Attorney General Eric Holder, CIA Director Leon Panetta, FBI Director Robert Mueller and counterterrorism adviser John "Oh, you mean THAT Nigerian!" Brennan.

Yo, Tiger,..Just How Big IS That 9-Iron?

Less than two weeks after Tiger Woods' Thanksgiving weekend car crash outside his home, 10 women have been alleged to have had affairs with the married golf legend.

Woods may be laying low – even skipping out on his own charity golf tournament this weekend – but it has not slowed the tarnishing of his once spotless public image, as bikini models, pancake house waitresses and reality show contestants come forward to reveal what they say are details of Woods' infidelities.

Stupid Is As Stupid Does?

A White House official says the Obama administration is eyeing an Illinois prison to house some Gitmo detainees.

The Obama administration may buy a near-empty prison in rural northwestern Illinois to house detainees from Guantanamo Bay along with federal inmates, a White House official told Fox News.

The maximum-security Thomson Correctional Facility, about 150 miles west of Chicago, was one of several evaluated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and emerged as a leading option to house the detainees.

WTF??

Is the Obamessiah serious? Does he want the Gitmo prisoners to feel more at home, near a den full of crooks like his hometown of Chicago? Or does he want them to get a closer look at their next big building target - the Sears Tower???

Ain't Karma Just Like Pelosi??

CALDWELL, Idaho — Police say an Idaho woman who made a false 911 call to lure paramedics out of their station made a real emergency call minutes later when she got trapped under the station's garage door.

Melissa R. Farris died Oct. 2 of injuries suffered when she was crushed by the closing garage door at the Canyon County station.

Farris, a former paramedic at the station, had been trying to crawl under the door after the ambulance left to respond to a nonexistent traffic accident she'd called in a few minutes earlier.

Caldwell Police Chief Chris Allgood says it may never be known why Farris was trying to gain access to the station

But according to a police report obtained by KBCI-TV, her sister told investigators that Farris may have been going after prescription medication stored in the station.

Louis Farrakhan: H1N1 Vaccine Developed to Kill People

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan said the H1N1 flu vaccine was developed to kill people, UPI reported.

"The Earth can't take 6.5 billion people. We just can't feed that many. So what are you going to do? Kill as many as you can," Farrakhan reportedly said during an event in Memphis, Tenn. "We have to develop a science that kills them and makes it look as though they died from some disease."

The 76-year-old added that many wise people won't take the vaccine, according to UPI.

His comments were made during an event to observe the group's Holy Day of Atonement, and also marked the 14th anniversary of the Million Man March in Washington.

Caught With His Worldwide Pants Down,...

A longtime CBS News producer is accused of attempting to extort $2 million from late night comedian David Letterman, a move that forced the “Late Show” host to confess to his studio audience and millions of viewers that he had engaged in sexual relationships with his female employees for years.

The alleged blackmailer is Robert (Joe) Halderman, a producer of the true-crime show “48 Hours,” current and former staffers of the program told FOXNews.com Friday. Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s name, but network officials confirm that he has been arrested.

“Everyone there has worked with him,” staffers told FOXNews.com of Halderman. “He’s a big deal there. He’s directed news specials that the CBS documentary team has produced, 9/11 stuff, Olympics, just about every big story."

Sources tell FOXNews.com that the nature of Halderman’s assignments would likely have given him access to loads of sensitive information over the years.

According to a report from MyFOXNY, the woman at the center of the scandal is Halderman's girlfriend and Letterman's former assistant, Stephanie Birkitt. The details of the alleged affair — which reportedly went on for years — were outlined in her diary and through personal correspondence, MyFOXNY reports.

Letterman said that "this whole thing has been quite scary." But he mixed in jokes while outlining what had happened to him, seeming to confuse a laughing audience at Thursday's taping about whether the story was true.

Click here for a clip of Letterman addressing the affairs, extortion.

Letterman's "Late Show" audience was the first to hear the story, which came as a shock since the 62-year-old Letterman had married longtime girlfriend Regina Lasko in March. The couple began dating in 1986 and have a son, Harry, born in November 2003. Fatherhood and his heart surgery in 2000 had seemed to mellow Letterman, who took over as the most popular late-night comedy host this summer after NBC replaced Jay Leno with Conan O'Brien on the "Tonight" show.
