Republicans Must Avoid the Liberal DoubleStandarddradnatSelbuoD Trap!

Pressure on Sen. Larry Craig continues to mount as the national Republican Party apparatus builds an intense behind-the-scenes effort to suggest and perhaps order a resignation from the embattled Idaho senator.

Staffers for the senator told FOX News that they expect no public statement from Craig on Thursday. But the Republican National Committee and White House are actively discussing Craig strategy — debating how much pressure to apply on the senator, who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge in connection with a police sting operation into lewd conduct at a men's airport restroom in Minnesota.

• Click here to read the transcript of the audio interview of Sen. Larry Craig.

• Click here to listen to the interview.

If Craig does not resign on Thursday, sources say the RNC may publicly call for his resignation. No decision has been reached on that, but the option is being weighed.

Pressure built on Thursday when Nevada Sen. John Ensign , the head of the party's senatorial campaign committee, said that Craig's guilty plea makes it nearly impossible for him to remain in office.

Ensign stopped short of calling on the three-term senator to resign his seat, but strongly suggested he do so.

"I wouldn't put myself hopefully in that kind of position, but if I was in a position like that, that's what I would do," Ensign told The Associated Press. "He's going to have to answer that for himself."

Ensign said Craig made his situation more difficult because he "admitted guilt, he pled guilty. It's a little different situation than just being accused of something."

Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., the first senator to call for Craig's resignation on Wednesday, and Sen. Susan Collins both said they will be giving to charity $2,500 donations given to them from Craig. Coleman has said the money will go to Sharing and Caring Hands, a Minneapolis-based charity that helps the poor. The donation came from Craig's political action committee, Alliance for the West.

Other lawmakers who received donations this year from Alliance for the West include Sens. Pete Domenici and John Sununu. All four Republicans have tough re-election battles next year.

Domenici, who is currently in New Mexico, told FOX News early in the day that he does not want to rush to judgment, but "the action being taken by the Senate Republican leadership is a good first step toward getting the facts. It's important that we allow the legal process to run its course and the Senate ethics committee to conduct a thorough and fair investigation."

Domenici's statement is similar to Thursday's on-the-record remarks from the White House.

"The whole matter is one of disappointment and it has been referred to the Senate ethics committee. We really want this to be resolved quickly, that would be in the best interest of the United States Senate and the people of Idaho," said spokeswoman Dana Perino.

Back in Idaho, Craig remains in seclusion, but the winds of change are rustling in his hometown of Boise. Craig's home state newspaper, the Idaho Statesman, called for the senator's resignation in a Thursday editorial.

"It is difficult and unpleasant to call on Idaho's senior senator to end a career in public service. We don't do this casually, or unanimously," the paper's editors wrote.

"However, we cannot abide an elected official who didn't disclose a lewd conduct arrest until the story broke 77 days later — a lie by omission and a violation of the public trust. We cannot believe Craig can effectively serve Idaho, under the shadow of his guilty plea on a lesser charge of disorderly conduct. We cannot afford, as a state with but four congressional representatives, to have a senator who merely provides fodder for bloggers and late-night talk show hosts."

The movement against Craig is part of a concerted effort by Senate Republican leaders, who are trying to learn the lessons of the Mark Foley page scandal and distance themselves swiftly from a colleague ensnared in sexual misconduct.

Several prominent Senate GOP officials told FOX News that Republican leaders don't want to repeat the circular firing squad that engulfed the House GOP leadership last year after evidence surfaced about lewd e-mails from Foley, then a Florida congressman, to a congressional page.

In that case, House GOP leaders fought publicly over who knew what when and how Foley's case should be handled — feuds that deepened the story's corrosive effect on party morale and sparked public doubts about Republican vigilance on ethics and public morality.

There is no evidence yet that Craig's misconduct will cost Republicans the so-called values voters who have formed their base for years. But as one GOP leadership staffer put it, "We were just beginning to make some headway on the Democrats with their bad poll numbers and there was some encouraging news from Iraq and now this. The Craig news sets everything back."

But just as the leadership ramps up its pressure on Craig, it's also leaving room to allow Craig to make a decision on his own. That kind of inaction gives the longtime lawmaker a chance to try to recoup some dignity as he bows out.

If Craig does give up his seat, it will not affect the balance of power in the Senate. Idaho is a very red state. The entire delegation is comprised of Republicans. According to the Idaho secretary of state's office, should Craig step down, Republican Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter, who has been preoccupied with wildfires in the state, would name an interim replacement to serve until next year's election.

The TrekMedic ponders:

Folks, as we finish the time trials and announce the pole positions for this mad race for the White House, we need to be reminded of how politics can be a game of opportunity.

While some Republicans are distancing themselves from Sen. Craig because he committed a crime, to distance themselves from him because his alleged homosexual behavior chafes against the morals of the Right is another.

Case in point: Louisiana Sen. David Vitter.

In July, Sen. David Vitter, R-La., acknowledged "a very serious sin in my past" after his Washington telephone number was linked to an escort service that prosecutors say was a prostitution ring. He went into seclusion for a week, apologized and has returned to the Senate.

Was Vitter's case OK because his transgressions were of the heterosexual, albeit immoral, kind?

Right-minded readers, we CANNOT fall into the same mindset of double-standardism that virtually drives the Democratic political machine!

We cannot have the Republican Party brought down by the party that tolerated William Jefferson Clinton's repeated denigration of women; or of Congressman "Cold Cash" William Jefferson of Louisiana; or more recently, Shrillary Clinton's sudden need to jettison the cash of a financial backer and convicted felon!

The Republican Party must present a united front in the next election. RNC leadership cannot selectively censure their politicians based on political expediency or voter turn-out!

Michael Vick - Don't Grow Up, SHUT Up!

"I apologize to the young kids for my immature acts," Vick said. "What I did was immature and I need to grow up," he said.

"Immature?" "Need to grow up?" No, Michael Vick,....

The TrekMedic thinks:
  • Lindsay Lohan needs to grow up,...
  • Britney Spears needs to grow up,...
  • Nicole Richie needs to grow up,...
You, Michael Vick, are a multi-millionaire who graduated from college with, I assume, a degree of some merit.

You, Michael Vick, didn't get drunk and act stupid in public.

You, Michael Vick, tortured and killed innocent animals for sport. And you made money off of it. WTF, man,....don't the Atlanta Falcons pay you enough??

You don't need to grow up,...you need to do a few years of hard time in the slammer (and not some Federal prison/spa/day camp either!)

You need to take a few of your ill-gotten millions and donate them to any and every SPCA that will take your money.

Then, Michael Vick, you need to quietly disappear from the American conscience.

DoubleStandarddradnatSelbuoD (The Religion of Peace Episode)

A popular comic strip that poked fun at the Rev. Jerry Falwell without incident one week ago was deemed too controversial to run over the weekend because this time it took a humorous swipe at Muslim fundamentalists.

The Washington Post and several other newspapers around the country did not run Sunday's installment of Berkeley Breathed's "Opus," in which the spiritual fad-seeking character Lola Granola appears in a headscarf and explains to her boyfriend, Steve, why she wants to become a radical Islamist.

The installment did not appear in the Post's print version, but it ran on WashingtonPost.com and Salon.com. The same will hold true for the upcoming Sept. 2 strip, which is a continuation of the plotline.

Click here to see the Aug. 26 "Opus" strip about radical Islam.

The Washington Post Writers Group syndicates "Opus," and the Post is the cartoon's home newspaper. The syndicate sent out an alert about the two strips in question, according to Writers Group comics editor Amy Lago.

Sources told FOXNews.com that the strips were shown to Muslim staffers at The Washington Post to gauge their reaction, and they responded "emotionally" to the depiction of a woman dressed in traditional Muslim garb and espousing conservative Islamic views.

There was also considerable alarm over the strip at the highest echelons of The Washington Post Co., according to the sources. (TM - That sentence speaks volumes for the whole MSM left-leaning conspiracy, right??)

Lago said she flagged some of the syndicate's newspaper clients for two reasons: because of the possibility that the jokes about Islam would be misconstrued and because of the sexual innuendo in the punchline.

"The strip came in and I knew we would have to send out an alert to all the newspapers," Lago said. "I do that fairly regularly with materials that might pose issues for local areas. ... We knew that because it was a sex joke, it could raise issues. And there is another client that has issues with any Muslim depiction whatsoever."

Editors from The Washington Post declined to comment on why they made the decision to pull the two comic strips. (TM - If I give you $0.25, will you go buy some balls??)

In the Aug. 26 "Opus," Lola — who asks to be called Fatima Struggle — tries to talk Steve into accepting her latest phase.

"Steve, think about what you're not getting," she says from behind her hijab and veil. "You're not getting a girlfriend obsessed with decadent Western crud. You're not getting a girlfriend blathering about 'American Idol.' And you're not getting a girlfriend who resists a man's rightful place."

Steve thinks about it, looks pleased for an instant and then looks disturbed again.

"Anything else I won't be getting, Fatima?" he asks sardonically.

"God willing," she replies.

A series of political cartoons that featured the prophet Mohammed were published in Denmark last year, sparking violent protests throughout the Muslim world. Those cartoons spurred a debate about the satirical depiction of religion in comic strips and other media.

The Aug. 19 "Opus" ended with a joke about the late Jerry Falwell. In that strip, Lola, fresh from a quest to become an Amish nudist, is doing yoga and talking to the penguin character Opus about who goes to heaven.

"Liberals? Evolutionists? Feminists? ACLU lawyers?" Opus asks incredulously. "Yep," replies Lola.

"Kennedy Democrats? French people? Manly women who don't shave ... they're all up there?" Opus wonders. "Yep," Lola repeats.

"With Jerry Falwell?" asks Opus. "Yep," Lola says again.

Opus looks up in an aha! sort of moment. "Goodness, must HE be annoyed!" the penguin exclaims.

"Eternally," Lola replies.

Click here to see the Aug. 19 "Opus" strip that pokes fun at Jerry Falwell.

Lago said she didn't flag newspapers about that strip because she didn't think readers would misunderstand the humor.

"They're not going to take it seriously," she said.

But she did alert newspapers about the Muslim-themed cartoon because there was a question about whether Muslim readers would be offended.

"I don't necessarily think it's poking fun [at Islam]," Lago said. "But the question with Muslims is, are they taking it seriously?"

The "Opus" strip in question takes swipes at Islamists — a term used for radical Muslims — as opposed to moderate Muslims, she pointed out, but there was concern that the distinction wouldn't be clear. And, she said, racy jokes sometimes draw fire, too.

"There have been a lot of complaints coming in about sex jokes lately," she said.

In this case, Breathed, who also drew the popular “Bloom County” strip, took the somewhat unusual step of alerting fans to the fact that the current and upcoming "Opus" cartoons had been withheld by a number of newspapers.

"Note to Opus readers: The Opus strips for August 26 and September 2 have been withheld from publication by a large number of client newspapers across the country, including Opus’ host paper The Washington Post. The strips may be viewed in a large format on their respective dates at Salon.com," the notice reads on Breathed’s Web site, www.berkeleybreathed.com.

The comics editor at a competing syndicate, King Features — which handles the "Mallard Fillmore," "Mutts," "Zits" and "Blondie" strips, among many others — said flagging newspapers about possibly objectionable content is fairly standard, especially since the funnies pages historically have been kid-friendly.

"The comics page in the paper is a very safe place traditionally," Brendan Burford said. "There are a few lightning rods, and a few lightning rods are good ... but there could be kids reading things."

It's also important to consider the deliverer of the message, he said. In this case, Breathed is known to be a satirical political cartoonist who tackles taboo topics.

In general, when there is a question about possibly offensive content, the cartoonist is involved in how to "soften the blow" if necessary, according to Burford.

As far as whether the Post and the Post Writers Group syndicate treated content about conservative Christians differently than it did content about conservative Muslims, it certainly could be taken that way.

"It appears on the surface to be a double standard," Burford said, "but at the same time, the climate of the world probably informs their decision with how to go forward with it."

Bitch, Slapped (More!) (More!)

BAGHDAD (Aug. 26) - Iraq 's embattled prime minister lashed out at American critics Sunday, saying Sen. Hillary Clinton and other Democrats who have called for his ouster should "come to their senses" and stop treating Iraq like "one of their villages."

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki also lambasted the U.S. military for raids in Shiite neighborhoods of Baghdad, adding new strains ahead of next month's showdown in Washington over the future of the U.S. mission.

The grim combination of ongoing violence and political deadlock have increased frustration in both Washington and Baghdad, with American lawmakers increasingly critical of al-Maliki's performance and Iraqi leaders growing weary of what they consider unfair U.S. criticism.

Clinton and Sen. Carl Levin, a Michigan Democrat and chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, have called for al-Maliki to be replaced.

"There are American officials who consider Iraq as if it were one of their villages, for example Hillary Clinton and Carl Levin. They should come to their senses," al-Maliki said at a news conference.

Al-Maliki denounced recent U.S. military actions in the Baghdad Shiite neighborhoods of Shula and Sadr City that according to the Iraqis resulted in civilian deaths.

"Concerning American raids on Shula and Sadr City, there were big mistakes committed in these operations. The terrorist himself should be targeted not his family," al-Maliki said "We will not allow the detaining of innocent people."

Two nights ago the U.S. military clashed with Shiite gunmen in Shula after they attacked an American patrol. The U.S. said eight "terrorists" were killed, but some Iraqis reported civilians were among the dead and injured.

U.S. forces also are routinely raiding Shiite militiamen in Sadr City, often calling in helicopter fire.

Al-Maliki launched his verbal counteroffensive about two weeks before the American commander in Iraq, Gen. David Petraeus, and U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker are due in Washington to report to Congress on progress in Iraq since the introduction of 30,000 more American troops.

The presence of those reinforcements has done little to bring about political reconciliation among Iraq's Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds - the key to lasting stability.

In the latest in a series of political crisis meetings, Iraq's top leaders failed again Sunday to convince the main Sunni bloc to join a new alliance of Shiites and Kurds to break the political impasse.

This month's decision by the Sunnis' Iraqi Accordance Front to bolt the al-Maliki government plunged the country into a political crisis.

During the meeting, attended by Crocker, the leaders endorsed holding provincial elections, releasing prisoners held without charge and changing the law preventing many former members of Saddam Hussein 's Baath Party from holding government jobs and elected office.

White House spokeswoman Emily Lawrimore hailed the agreement as an "important symbol" of the commitment "to work together for the benefit of all Iraqis."

But details were left to a committee to hash out and it was far from certain that those steps would soon be implemented. Iraq's oil law, for example, has been in the hands of a constitutional committee for months and has not emerged in parliament for a vote.

During his press conference, the Shiite prime minister said a negative report by Petraeus would not cause him to change course, although he said he expected that the U.S. general would "be supportive of the government and will disappoint the politicians who are relying on it" to be negative.

Nevertheless, al-Maliki appeared stung by the recent series of critical statements about his government, including one from President Bush , who said he was frustrated that al-Maliki had failed to make progress on political benchmarks. Crocker has said the lack of movement had been "highly disappointing."

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican , said Sunday that al-Maliki's government "is still pretty much a disaster" despite some progress made.

"It's a democratically elected government, and I don't think we can dictate to them," McConnell said. Nonetheless, McConnell said, senators from both parties agree the Shiite prime minister has been "a huge disappointment."

In an interview with Newsweek magazine, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, who visited Iraq this month, said he told Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that al-Maliki has "got to be replaced."

Al-Maliki said the Iraqi government would demand an apology.

Criticism of al-Maliki's stewardship has fueled Democrat calls in Congress for an end to the increasingly unpopular war.

Last week Sen. John Warner, a Virginia Republican, said the United States should order a token withdrawal of forces by Christmas. Warner said such a move would show al-Maliki that Washington was serious about progress on reconciliation among the country's religious sects and ethnic groups.

North of Baghdad, fighting broke out in Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad, when about 30 masked gunmen stormed a house where American soldiers had established an observation post, according to U.S. spokesman Lt. Col. Michael Donnelly.

That triggered a gunbattle in the stairwell, after which the gunmen fled in a vehicle. Donnelly said U.S. aircraft tracked the gunmen to the house that was bombed. Iraqi officials said seven civilians, including five children, were killed.

The assault on the observation post led to "multiple engagements throughout the next several hours in the city" as troops from the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment tried to apprehend the attackers, according to Master Sgt. David Rhodes, another U.S. spokesman.

Fighting continued at sundown and "U.S. observation aircraft continue to monitor suspicious movement throughout the city while U.S. and Iraqi ground forces conduct patrols and building searches," Rhodes said. "Numbers of civilian and enemy casualties are still being assessed and cannot be confirmed at this time," he said.

In Kut, 100 miles southeast of Baghdad, fighting broke out between U.S. troops and Shiite militiamen, Iraqi officials said. Eight Iraqis, including two women, were killed and six others were wounded, said police Lt. Mohammed al-Shameri.

Elsewhere, a Kurdish security official said a U.S. helicopter attacked two Kurdish police outposts on Sunday, killing four policemen and wounding eight. The U.S. military said it was investigating the report.

Jabar Yawer, spokesman for the Kurdish peshmerga militia, said two police vehicles also were destroyed in the airstrike 65 miles northeast of Baghdad and he believed the attack was mistaken friendly fire.

"We demand American troops to give an explanation for the U.S. airstrike against a police station," the Kurdish Interior Minister said in a statement. "The U.S. troops should take care to understand what troops are deployed in the border areas."

Meanwhile, waves of Shiite pilgrims descended on Karbala on Sunday for a festival marking the birth of the 9th century Hidden Imam. A woman making the 50-mile journey from Baghdad was shot to death by men in a passing car in the southwest of the capital.

More than a million Shiite faithful from throughout the world were expected to converge on the Shiite holy city for the celebrations, which reach their high point late Tuesday and early Wednesday. The Shabaniyah festival marks the birth of Mohammed al-Mahdi, the 12th and last Shiite imam who disappeared in the 9th century.

Six men were wounded as they walked toward Karbala with the woman who was gunned down, according to Baghdad police officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.

Racism! Racism!

WASHINGTON — The selection of a Chinese sculptor to carve a three-story monument to Martin Luther King Jr. on the National Mall is raising questions about what part of his legacy should be celebrated.

King promoted peace and understanding among all people. His primary fight, however, was to win particular opportunities for blacks in the United States by juxtaposing the plight of an oppressed people against a message of freedom and democracy.

A loose-knit but growing group of critics says a black artist — or at least an American — should have been chosen to create the King memorial between the Lincoln and Jefferson memorials in the nation's capital. They have been joined by human rights advocates who say King would have abhorred the Chinese government's record on religious and civil liberty.

"They keep saying King was for everyone. I keep telling people, 'No, King wasn't for everyone. King was for fairness and justice,"' said Gilbert Young, a black painter from Atlanta who has started a Web site and a petition drive to try to change the project.

"I believe that black artists have the right to interpret ourselves first," Young said. "If nobody steps up to the plate to do that, then certainly pass it along to someone else."

The memorial foundation directing the project seems surprised at the criticism. Ten of the 12 people on the committee that chose the sculptor, Lei Yixin, are black. Lei is working closely on the design with two black sculptors in the U.S., organizers said, and the overall project is being directed by a black-owned architecture firm.

The foundation also points to King's preaching — in a quote that will be incorporated into the monument — that to achieve peace, humans must "transcend race, our tribe, our class, and our nation; and this means we must develop a world perspective."

"The bottom line is Dr. King's message that we should judge a person not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character," said Harry Johnson, the foundation's president and chief executive. "In this situation, we're talking about the artistic character."

Lei, designated a master sculptor by the Chinese government, is one of nine artists in the field who are considered national treasures in China. He has carved monuments to many of the country's national figures, including Mao Zedong, father of communist China.

In a telephone interview Friday from Hunan province in central China, Lei said he was honored to have been chosen and was aware of the controversy.

"I deeply understand because Martin Luther King is a hero for black Americans," he said.

But, he added, "Martin Luther King hoped that everyone would be brothers and sisters no matter the color of their skin or their social status, that they would all enjoy the same opportunities and rights. ... I want my sculpture to show that Martin Luther King fought for democracy."

Ann Lau, a Chinese native who lives in Los Angeles, bristles at the suggestion of democracy in her home country and said King would never condone Beijing's policies. The granite used for the statue probably will be mined by workers laboring in unsafe and unfair conditions, the human rights activist said.

Lau, Young and others plan to present their online petition to lawmakers in Washington next month in an effort to force the foundation to reconsider the project. Although the $100 million project is financed with private donations, they said citizens should have a say because the monument is being built on public land.

"The whole thing is wrong," Lau said. "We are going to be permanently connecting Dr. King with someone whose ideology is totally opposed to Dr. King's ideology."

But Johnson, the foundation president, asked why the foundation should hold Lei accountable for his government.

"I think you have to take this away from the government," he said. "We didn't question Lei about his politics or his ideology. We questioned him about whether he could do the work."

The King monument is scheduled to be completed in 2009.

(TM - Couldn't find Gilbert Young's petition, but found this one instead)

The TrekMedic sighs:

Just another perversion of Dr. King's ideas by today's so-called black leaders (you know, the one's who quote him ad nauseam, but can't get the murder rate in big, urban areas to drop).

If blacks are so bent out of shape about a Chinese national making the sculpture (what's he going to do, use lead paint and tainted dog food??), why don't they let Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson create it? Hell,...it would be the first honest bit of work out of those two in decades!

Note to Texas - Baseball vs Football

Major HT to the TrekMedic's personal guru, George Carlin:

Baseball is a nineteenth-century pastoral game.
Football is a twentieth-century technological struggle.

Baseball is played on a diamond, in a park. The baseball park!
Football is played on a gridiron, in a stadium, sometimes called Soldier Field or War Memorial Stadium.

Baseball begins in the spring, the season of new life.
Football begins in the fall, when everything's dying.

In football you wear a helmet.
In baseball you wear a cap.

Football is concerned with downs - what down is it?
Baseball is concerned with ups - who's up?

In football you receive a penalty.
In baseball you make an error.

In football the specialist comes in to kick.
In baseball the specialist comes in to relieve somebody.

Football has hitting, clipping, spearing, piling on, personal fouls, late hitting and unnecessary roughness.
Baseball has the sacrifice.

Football is played in any kind of weather: rain, snow, sleet, hail, fog...
In baseball, if it rains, we don't go out to play.

Baseball has the seventh inning stretch.
Football has the two minute warning.

Baseball has no time limit: we don't know when it's gonna end - might have extra innings.
Football is rigidly timed, and it will end even if we've got to go to sudden death.

In baseball, during the game, in the stands, there's kind of a picnic feeling; emotions may run high or low, but there's not too much unpleasantness.
In football, during the game in the stands, you can be sure that at least twenty-seven times you're capable of taking the life of a fellow human being.

And finally, the objectives of the two games are completely different:

In football the object is for the quarterback, also known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his receivers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy's defensive line.

In baseball the object is to go home! And to be safe! - I hope I'll be safe at home!"

Either way 30-3 is one f**king lopsided score!!

Democrats Playing the Religion Card Already?

Say it ain't so,...

Unfortunately, Red State says so,...

Democrats in Louisiana have apparently uncovered the shocking secret that Bobby Jindal is... wait for it... Catholic!

Not only is Bobby Jindal Catholic, he has (*gasp*) identifiable reasons for being Catholic!

This, along with their candidates' anemic standing in the polls, is a good reason for the Democratic Party of Louisiana to attack Bobby Jindal's faith.

The TrekMedic furthers the posting with the "good reason:"

In the TV spot, the announcer charges that Jindal wrote articles that “insulted thousands of Louisiana Protestants,” and she holds up an article in which she says Jindal “doubts the morals and questions the beliefs of Baptists, Methodists, Episcopalians, Pentecostals and other Protestant religions.”

The ads are an obvious attempt to destroy Jindal in Protestant North Louisiana (they are not running in the heavily Catholic southern part of the state), a generally conservative part of the state where he underperformed four years ago, when he narrowly lost his last bid for governor to Kathleen Blanco (D). Blanco chose not to seek reelection – a wise move considering reviews of her performance after Hurricane Katrina and her standing with state voters.

Fred On! Apply Directly to the White House

Jay at Stop the ACLU brings this bit of FDT's wisdom to light:

Likely Republican White House hopeful Fred Thompson told CNN Friday that he would push for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage and would work to overturn Roe v. Wade if elected president.

“I don’t think that one state ought to be able to pass a law requiring gay marriage or allowing gay marriage and have another state be required to follow along,” Thompson told CNN’s John King in an interview Friday.

Thompson added that the U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion “was bad law and bad medicine.”

As for when he will jump into the race, the former Tennessee senator said “shortly.”

“We are going to be getting in if we get in, and of course, we are in the testing the waters phase,” he said. “We’re going to be making a statement shortly that will cure all of that. But yeah, we’ll be in traditionally when people get in this race.”

Thompson also said he believed he could enter the presidential race next month and still win the Iowa caucuses.

When Did Rutgers Start Giving Degrees in Money Sniffing??

NEW YORK — A member of the Rutgers women's basketball team sued Don Imus and CBS on Tuesday, claiming the radio personality's sexist and racist comments about the team damaged her reputation.

Kia Vaughn filed the lawsuit alleging defamation of character in state Supreme Court in the Bronx the same day Imus settled with CBS Radio in a deal that pre-empts his threatened $120 million breach-of-contract lawsuit against CBS.

Vaughn's lawsuit, believed to be the first by a player in the case, says Imus and his former co-host Bernard McGuirk, along with CBS Corp. and CBS Radio, are legally responsible for damage done to her character and reputation. There is no dollar amount listed in the suit.

Vaughn's attorney, Richard Ancowitz, said: "The full effect of the damage remains to be seen."

"This is about Kia Vaughn's good name," Ancowitz said. "She would do anything to return to her life as a student and respected basketball player — a more simple life before Imus opened his mouth on April 4."

Imus referred to the basketball players as "nappy-headed hos" on his nationally syndicated radio program in April, becoming the target of heated protests led by the Rev. Al Sharpton. He was fired shortly after.

A spokeswoman for CBS Radio declined to comment.

So,..Global Warming IS Just Algore's Hot Air,.....

© 2007 WorldNetDaily.com

WASHINGTON – This week's cover story in Newsweek reports a "denial machine," bought and paid for by big industry, is preventing critical government action to stop global warming.

Meanwhile, next week's issue of Newsweek contains a scathing report by longtime contributing editor Robert J. Samuelson characterizing the previous cover story as "highly contrived" and "fundamentally misleading."

"We in the news business often enlist in moral crusades," writes Samuelson in a report that will hit newsstands next week. "Global warming is among the latest. Unfortunately, self-righteous indignation can undermine good journalism. Last week's Newsweek cover story on global warming is a sobering reminder. It's an object lesson of how viewing the world as 'good guys vs. bad guys' can lead to a vast oversimplification of a messy story. Global warming has clearly occurred; the hard question is what to do about it."

Among the criticisms leveled by Samuelson against his own magazine:

Newsweek used discredited allegations about an ExxonMobil grant to a think tank to pay academics to write articles critical of global warming. The alleged cabal of deniers does not seem to be so effective as to warrant a scary cover story. Meanwhile, he points out how the mainstream media have promoted catastrophic, manmade global warming as fact rather than theory. The article was full of "self-righteous indignation," which he said "can undermine good journalism.

Samuelson concludes: "But the overriding reality seems almost un-American: we simply don't have a solution for this problem. As we debate it, journalists should resist the temptation to portray global warming as a morality tale – as Newsweek did – in which anyone who questions its gravity or proposed solutions may be ridiculed as a fool, a crank or an industry stooge. Dissent is, or should be, the lifeblood of a free society."

The Newsweek cover story, written by Sharon Begley with Eve Conant, Sam Stein, Eleanor Clift and Matthew Philips, was also attacked by Marc Morano, Republican staffer on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.

"This week's 'news article' in Newsweek follows the magazine's Oct. 23, 2006, article, which admitted the error of their ways in the 1970s when they predicted dire global cooling," he writes on his blog.

Morano also takes Newsweek to task for use of the word "denier" being attached to global-warming skeptics. He says it's an attempt to equate climate-change skeptics with Holocaust deniers. He quotes Roger Pielke Jr. of the University of Colorado's Center for Science and Technology Policy Research as saying: "Let's be blunt. This allusion is an affront to those who suffered and died in the Holocaust. This allusion has no place in the discourse on climate change. I say this as someone fully convinced of a significant human role in the behavior of the climate system."

Morano also points out his office provided Newsweek staffer Conant with data showing the skeptics in the global warming debate being far outspent to the tune of $50 billion in the last decade to $19 million.

You know you're downashore when:
  • You have to pay a toll to go from one town to the next,....
  • You can buy "bait and tackle" on one side of a store and buy "fresh and prepared cooked seafood" on the other,....

  • You see a sign saying "Follow the Gull" and you know what it means,...
Sounds from downashore,...
  • Seagulls cawing....
  • Waves crashing,...
  • Life guard's whistle blowing
  • Prop planes flying overhead, telling you to buy "Bud Light"
  • "Watch the tram car please"

What Next? PINK Fire Trucks???

In 28 years of responding to fires and saving lives, Fire Capt. John Ghiotto of the San Diego Fire Department never thought his job would require him to attend a Gay Pride parade.

"I've dealt with finding bodies in burning buildings, traffic accidents with kids, but I've never been so stressed out before until this incident," Ghiotto told FOXNews.com in an exclusive interview.

Ghiotto and three other firefighters filed a sexual harassment complaint against the city's fire department last week after being forced to attend the parade in uniform despite objections they made to superiors.

“I don’t want anybody else to go through this. This is a whole different ball game. I think our officials up above need to look at this,” Ghiotto said.

The firefighters claim parade attendees made obscene gestures, uttered inappropriate remarks and displayed lewd behavior that made them uncomfortable. They also demanded a work environment without discrimination and harassment.

Click here to read the complaint. Warning: contains graphic language.

The four men allege they were ordered by a battalion chief to attend last month's parade and feared consequences for failure to do so, since refusing to follow a direct order constitutes disciplinary action.

If the men refused to follow the direct order, they could have been suspended on the spot and stripped of any chance for a promotion, according to their manual, Ghiotto said. It was Ghiotto's first direct order.

Ghiotto, engineer Jason Hewitt and firefighters Chad Allison and Alex Kane filed the complaint, which includes detailed descriptions of their allegations. Their fire station is along the parade route.

“You could not even look at the crowd without getting some type of sexual gesture,” Ghiotto said in the complaint. “The experience left me feeling humiliated, embarrassed and offended by this event.”

San Diego fire chief Tracy Jarman, an open lesbian, said she apologized to the men, according to a statement. Jarman said any kind of sexual harassment is "unacceptable, and is never tolerated" in the department.

"I am deeply concerned and troubled by the allegations that have been made. I take them seriously," Jarman said in a statement.

Jarman said she will order the city’s Equal Employment Investigative Office to review the complaint.

The complaint is the first filed against her department regarding participation in a parade or festival, Jarman said.

Sterling Stires, a senior associate with the Thomas More Law Center, said there was a previous complaint issued by a captain in a different station about being forced to participate in the parade.

One of the four firefighters defended his decision to file the complaint, saying it is a sexual harassment issue.

“This EEO complaint isn’t about homosexuality or gay pride. This has to do with people in the workplace being threatened, sexually harassed, and forced to participate in a parade that isn’t like other parades and the behavior that is demonstrated by the public and some of its participants are what are found to be offensive,” according Hewitt’s statement in the complaint.

Hewitt described what he saw at the parade.

“While I was sitting there waiting for the parade to start, I felt that I was forced against my will to be at the Gay Pride Parade and forced to see men in tight shorts dancing provocatively and other men kissing and hugging wearing sexually suggestive material on T-shirts with writing 'Girth and Mirth,' 'Suit Up Before You Dive In,' according to the complaint.

“I was forced into a situation that would compromise what I hold true and what I believe in, my reputation, my character, my integrity, my morals, and my religion," the complaint says.

The firefighters’ lawyer sent a letter to the state Department of Fair Employment and Housing last week, seeking approval to file a sexual harassment lawsuit against the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

“The damage has already been done,” said Brian Rooney, a spokesman and attorney for the Thomas More Law Center, which is representing the firefighters. “By participating in this parade wearing the uniform, the perception is clear that they support this type of parade and that is not what they want to convey to their community, their wives and children and their churches."

The firefighters want a change in policy so other colleagues won’t face the same situation.

Fellow firefighters have commended them for filing the complaint, said Charles LiMandri, the West Coast director of the Thomas More Law Center, a not-for-profit public interest law center, and a San Diego-area attorney.

"They realize that they could be the ones to have to do this. They commended them for their courageous stance," LiMandri said.

The TrekMedic adds:

A similar situation occurred in the early 90s here in Philadelphia. An old friend of the TrekMedic, working for an events-only ambulance service, rode along in a Gay Pride parade to offer first aid along the route. The ambulance crew, both being heterosexuals, were harassed to the point where they put up signs in the windows of the ambulance announcing "We're Straight." This caused a tremendous public outcry from the gay community and took weeks of ass-kissing PR to finally go away.

You Know Its Bad When the MSM Eat Their Own,...

(separated at birth?)

John Edwards' campaign scoffed Tuesday at a new effort to depict the Democratic presidential candidate as phony after an influential columnist for a newspaper in Edwards' birth state wrote that his personal experiences only reinforce his image of Edwards as plastic.

Edwards spokesman Eric Schultz suggested the editorial is a farce and noted that columnist Brad Warthen of The State newspaper, based in Columbia, S.C., endorsed Joe Lieberman a day before the Connecticut senator dropped out of the Democratic primary race in 2004.

Schultz also pointed out that columnists in other newspapers have opined that Edwards "is shaping the Democratic race by leading with ideas" and a June internal polling memo claims Edwards bests other Democratic candidates in mock general election match-ups.

In his column Tuesday, Warthen wrote about three episodes he had with Edwards during the latter's presidential primary campaign and vice presidential bid alongside John Kerry in 2004. In each, he described Edwards as a man who put on a show for audiences, but showed utter disregard for individuals behind the scenes.

Posting for Jay at Stop the ACLU:

Truth Boating Hillary

In the following timeline, we will see apparent evidence of Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign understating over $750,000 in contributions to her 2000 Senate campaign, from one Peter Paul.

Evidently, Hillary's campaign initially denied even knowing Peter Paul, and then later, admitted meeting him but never had a conversation regarding his contribution to her campaign.

Hillary Clinton will finally be under oath in the historic civil suit, Paul v Clinton in Los Angeles Superior Court. Voters are going to see the details of the greatest campaign finance fraud in history and the Clinton role in the collapse of Stan Lee Media.

It is going to take an army armada of bloggers to break the media blockade that has protected Hillary. It is time for TRUTH BOATING HILLARY.

Here is the TIMELINE that even the mainstream media can understand:
TIMELINE:

Feb. 2000 - Peter Paul is induced to support Hillary's 2000 Senate campaign with the promise of access to Bill Clinton to be able to make a proposal to come aboard Stan Lee Media as a rainmaker when he left the WH

June 9, 2000 - Paul pays for two Hillary Clinton fundraisers at Spago and the home of Cynthia Gershman ... the costs are never declared by the campaign (note: a previous fundraiser through Rendell for Al Gore, paid for by Paul, was also never declared; Rendell also never declared a 150K stock pledge) ... at the Spago lunch, Paul spent considerable time with Hillary and discussed his plan for her husband's employment... see the 20/20 report from 2001...Amazingly, in her declaration of 4-7-06, Hillary acts as if she barely knew Peter Paul and claimed she couldn't remember anything they might have said. Besides the email comments, Paul has video of her going on and on about how Stan Lee was a genius for hiring Paul. She is really excited about Paul's idea of a cartoon character of Al Gore, and she wants to talk to Tony Coehlo and Terry McAuliffe about it. Her failure to remember is simply a lie.

June 23, 2000 - Kelly Craighead (a White House employee, not part of any joint funraising committee), Jim Levin, David Rosen (all agents of Hillary and Bill) meet with Aaron Tonken (agent of Paul and fundraiser for Ed Rendell) to originate the idea for a major fundraising event for Hillary as part of the Aug. 14-20 DNC Convention in L.A.

July 11, 2000 - conference call between Peter Paul, Tonken, Craighead, Wolfson, Levin, and Rosen in which Paul is solicited to pay for the Hollywood Gala....he is asked to pay $525K, and it is expected that Cynthia Gershman will pay a like amount....it was acknowledged by all that the fundraiser would cost over a million dollars

July 17, 2000 - Paul films the SMOKING GUN VIDEO. This video was withheld by an assistant US ATTY while investigations were proceeding. Hillary is shown soliciting and coordination the $1.6 mil in-kind, hard money donation. Kelly Craighead kept her completely briefed and she offered any help she could. David Kendall's claim that this was a joint fundraiser, and thus hard money, won't fly. Craighead was a White House employee who solicited the money on July 11. Hillary was part of closing the deal on July 17.

Aug. 12, 2000 - Hollywood Gala... it raises a million dollars for Hillary, but it cost over a million dollars...Paul spent several hours with Bill Clinton... here they are putting the final touches on the deal at the after concert dinner... Look at all the photos of the gala... Hillary actually said in her declaration of 4-7-06, "I remember Mr. Paul attending the event..." How insulting was that? Actually, she spent hours near him and publicly thanked him from the stage for all he did.

Aug 13 - Paul and his wife Andrea are at the home of Barbra Streisand for Clinton Library donors...when Hillary sees Andrea, she runs over to her, brings her over to Streisand, and introduces her as "the wife of the man who funded last night's event...my new best friend"... Streisand's testimony should be interesting... Chelsea came up to the table with Paul, Andrea, Tendo Oto, Oto's interpreter Jonathon Rogers, Jim Levin, and Haim Saban. Chelsea discussed for at least a half an hour how excited she and her parents were about her dad coming to work for the creator of Spider Man... Hillary sets up her daughter for perjury

Aug. 13 - Tendo Oto and SLM make their deal for Asian partnership - Oto gives $5 mil and promises another $5-7 mil in November for the American joint venture...On Aug. 12 he had paid $27K to attend the federal fundraiser gala. Giving money was illegal. Attending was illegal. Since Oto had no social security number to check out when he showed up at the event with his camera crew, the Secret Service said no way. Clinton had the Secret Service stand down, and Oto sat directly behind the president and first lady.

Aug 14 - Ed Rendell calls Peter Paul in a panic. Lloyd Grove is preparing a story for the WASHPOST about Paul's felony record for "The Cuban Coffee Caper" two decades previous when he was an international attorney in Miami. Rendell tells Paul to deny he gave any money and just play along. Shortly after the warning call, Grove called. Here is the callsheet from SLM, certified by the government as evidence.

Aug 15 - Lloyd Grove writes the story in the WASHPOST about Paul's felony past from two decades previous involving the Cuban Coffee Caper and defrauding Fidel Castro of $8.7 million ... Howard Wolfson vows that they would never take any money from Peter Paul

Aug 17 - Grove writes a second story about $2,000 given by Paul at Spago ... Wolfson says they will return the money, and a check is immediately cut and sent to Paul ... Wolfson actually admits that the gala cost a million dollars but says it was in-kind and not a check. (Ummm, in-kind is hard money, Howard)

Aug 18 - behind the scenes, while disavowing him in public, the Clintons write personal notes to Paul, dated Aug 18, espressing their gratitude ... Hillary: "We will remember it always"... Bill's note... Even Chelsea got into the act.

Aug 24 - Campaign Finance Chairman David Rosen is directed to send a fax to Paul asking for another $100,000 (actually, one of several faxes) ... Hillary had promised the money for the Working Families Party in New York ... Paul will send no more money until he hears it face to face from Bill Clinton that they still have a deal (second document shows Gordon's acknowledgement that it was "done")

Sept. 22, 2000 - Clinton steps off AF-1 in Los Angeles (we have photo) and assures Paul that the deal is still a go ... Paul has Steven Gordon send a stock transfer of $55K to the Working Families Party for Hillary... we can find no evidence that they ever declared that donation. If the Clintons were disavowing Paul in public, claimed he gave no money, and had no business arrangement with the President as claimed by Hillary, why would the President of the United States be meeting Paul in public as he stepped off AF-1? For what possible purpose? That's not hard to figure out, is it?

Nov 7 - Hillary is elected

Nov 13 - just six days after Hillary's election, an agreement for Venture Soft USA Inc is recorded in Illinois between Jim Levin, Clinton's business adviser, and Tendo Oto ... Levin was Clinton's "eyes and ears" in dealing with Paul, got proprietary business information, and stole the Japanese partner for their own deal

Dec 2000 - Stan Lee Media collapses ... the additional $5-7 million promised in November from partner Tendo Oto was not received due to the Clinton/Levin interference In Paul v Clinton, it will be proven that Oto's money would have kept the company solvent until Clinton came aboard as he had promised Peter Paul.

Early 2001 - Paul discovers that the campaign has filed two fraudulent FEC reports, only reporting 366K for the cost of Event 39 ... he spent over a million dollars on it

June 18, 2001 - Paul files initial lawsuit against the Clintons and several others for business fraud

July 3 - Treasurer Andrew Grossman is served with the lawsuit that includes documentation for $1.6 million spent by Paul

July 11 - David Kendall accepts service for Hillary along with the $1.6 million documented expenses

July 18 - press conference at National Press Club . Paul has messenger hand deliver a demand letter to Hillary's senate office

July 30 - despite Paul's demand and all of the documentation, a third false FEC report is filed ... this time they declare $401K for Event 39 ... still no mention of Paul as the real donor

Jan 2005 - criminal indictment of David Rosen is unsealed

May 2005 - Rosen acquitted in criminal trial in Los Angeles...the perjury in this trial was astounding...the judge and prosecutor went out of their way to condemn Paul and claim that Hillary had nothing to do with it is also astounding... FBI affidavit during the trial documenting $1.2 mil from Paul that was not declared. The prosecution does not call Paul, Aaron Tonken, or key witness Kelly Craighead (Craighead was also never called by the FEC - she will be a key witness in Paul v Clinton).... The prosecution does not use damaging evidence against Rosen obtained while Ray Reggie (brother in law of Ted Kennedy) was wearing a wire. In Tonken's book, KING OF CONS, he tells how he sat in a van with Hillary detailing all of the money that was being spent on her.

Dec 2005 - FEC determines that the campaign deliberately underreported $721,000, fines the campaign a mere $35,000, and orders a new filing...treasurer Andrew Grossman signs conciliation agreement with the FEC, the equivalent of a nolo contendre plea

Jan 2006 - thefourth fraudulent FEC report is filed ... among the problems are Stan Lee (whom we have on tape in a deposition swearing that he gave no money) is credited with a 225K donation and Paul is still never named personally as the donor as he has demanded

April 7, 2006 - Hillary removed as defendant but judge made clear to Kendall that she would be testifying ... the declaration turned into the court by Kendall for Hillary can only be described as a work of fiction ... no reporters attended the hearing and not one mainstream media source wrote that a trial date had been set for defendant Bill Clinton (trial date postponed until appeal is heard to bring Hillary back in as a defendant) ... Chelsea will be one of the witnesses called ... although her mom claims no knowledge of the business deal, if Chelsea testifies honestly, she will tell how the family stayed up late after the gala playing scrabble and discussing the excitement of daddy going to work for the creator of Spiderman ... from a private fundraiser at Zev Braun's house in early 2000, Paul has home video of Hillary laughing and discussing with him how he had arranged in 1993 for Fabio to chase her around the room and pick her up in a romance pose...the president referenced that event the next year at the Italian-American Foundation Dinner.... her declaration claiming that she met Paul in early 2000 is simply a lie

June 2006 - Senate Ethics Committee announces it will not investigate Hillary and simply relies on the flawed FEC procedure ... subsequently, they refuse Paul's offer to appear and testity

Oct. 18, 2006 - new demand letter for return of over a million dollars is delivered to Hillary's DC office with copy delivered to Sen. Voinovich, chair of the Senate Ethics Committee

Jan. 10, 2007 - Paul counsel files Appellate Brief to bring Hillary back into the case as a defendant (that delays the trial date for Bill, set for March 27, 2007...it also delays depositions)....no mainstream media source had reported that defendant Bill Clinton had a trial date in a case involving the collapse of Spiderman Stan Lee's company)

April 2007 - after a two-year battle for the return of evidence, including home videos, an assistant US atty provides Paul with a list of items they will return to him.....included was the "smoking gun video": July 17, 5-minute conference call, Hillary Clinton..... when the numerous pieces of evidence were finally sent, the shipment did not include that video.....Paul's counsel argues vehemently for that to be sent....Paul believes that a low-level functionary screwed up by putting that piece of evidence on the manifest -- Hillary never thought it would see the light of day...that video was finally sent because they could not deny its possession

June 20, 2007 - look at this page under "Latest Filings" for June 20 briefs and declarations

July 27, 2007 - court notification that oral arguments are set for Sept. 7 before the California Court of Appeals.... a decision on whether Hillary is brought back in as a defendant is expected within 10 days thereafter.... then, it is time for depositions.... if David Kendall loses, he may appeal to the California Supreme Court.....that court had earlier refused to hear the argument about removal of Bill Clinton from the case.... Kendall may be able to delay it for a short time, but depositions are expected to begin this year.

Baseball History Being Made,....

With Juice:

SAN DIEGO — With a short swing, a half stare and an emphatic clap of his hands, Barry Bonds rounded the bases. After so many days and so many tries, he had finally caught Hammerin' Hank.

"The hard part is over right now," Bonds said.

High above the field in a private box, baseball commissioner Bud Selig was a reluctant witness to history. Choosing to overlook the steroid allegations that have dogged the San Francisco slugger, Selig watched Bonds tie Hank Aaron's home run record — his mouth agape, hands stuffed in pockets and nary a cheer on his lips.

And Without:

NEW YORK — Alex Rodriguez became the youngest player in major league history to hit 500 home runs, sending the first pitch he saw Saturday just past the foul pole in left field.

Rodriguez stood at home plate for a second after the drive off Royals starter Kyle Davies in the first inning, waiting to see if it would stay fair. He threw his hands in the air after it landed in the seats and began trotting around the bases as the Yankee Stadium crowd cheered wildly.

When he reached the plate, he hugged Derek Jeter and Bobby Abreu, who both scored on the landmark home run. His teammates were already on the field and he embraced several of them on his way to the dugout.

The crowd buzzed and roared again when A-Rod stuck his head out of the dugout for a curtain call.

When he sat on the bench next to Jeter, the Yankees captain reached out and playfully rubbed A-Rod's head as the two superstars laughed.

"Freak" Follow-Up

So,..apparently, Steven Wells, the author of the Philadelphia, Weakly piece on lawful gun owners has called the TrekMedic "desperate" for pointing out to him that he erred in stating the Pennsylvania National Guard Armory is located at "27th & Southampton," in Northeast Philadelphia.

True Philadelphians know that no numbered streets exist that far into NE Philly. (BTW - The REAL address is Roosevelt Blvd and Southampton Road).

This glaring error makes the TrekMedic wonder if Mr. Wells even attended a gun show at the Armory,...or is he just gloming together anecdotal anti-guns stories to make the point of his article?

Think he's full of shit? Let him know at thestevenwells@gmail.com

People I Hate!

Borrowing from Wyatt at Support Your Local Gunfighter on this one:

People the Trekmedic Hates :

Arrogant suburban families that think,..nay - ASSUME, that the staffers at the local Borders and Barnes and Noble stores are their personal babysitters.

There's something seriously wrong when you feel the urge to waste $8-10 on a cup of Seattle's Best or Starbucks Coffee on a Saturday morning, but are also saddled with your parental duty to watch over your children.

The solution?

Take your pre-schoolers over to the bookstore, dump them in the children's' book section to have at it, and go upstairs and enjoy that over-priced cuppa Joe!

Who cares if you haven't taught your children age-appropriate manners yet? Who cares if they don't understand "indoor voice" yet? Who cares if your ill-mannered children take EVERY SINGLE BOOK off the shelf? Isn't that what the staff at the store get paid to do??

But that's OK,..you've had your caffeine fix for the day, right?

Who cares if your child's screaming because you won't buy the roughly 100-odd books they want RIGHT NOW!!

And,...

Who cares if some child predator notices that your children are alone?

And who will be the first ones sued for poor security when something dreadful happens to your child afterwards? Uh-huh,...the same people you assumed would be their unwitting babysitters!

Assholes!

Freak Out! Le Freak, C'Est Chic,....

OK,..that bit of 70s nostalgia actually covers up a more serious subject - guns.

This week's Philadelphia, Weakly ran a piece on the lawful gun owners of Philadelphia.

What part of the article awakened the TrekMedic's ire?

This statement:

What kind of freak chooses to own something designed to rip holes in other human beings anyway?

"Freak," huh? My, my, my! How typical of the leftist media and their liberal agenda to once again stoop to name calling to make their point!

Oddly enough, when the Philadelphia, Weakly is writing similar pieces on the murder epidemic gripping our city, or PPD Commissioner Sylvester Johnson's anemic and impotent response, they writers and/or editorial board never use words like "freak" to describe what kind of loser/asshole/scumbag feels the need to settle every perceived slight with a gun!!

Could it be that the editorial board is scared shitless to confront these people and face the wrath of the purveyors of that "urban culture," like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton??

As for this freak, you'll get my guns when you pry them from my cold, dead hands.

God Bless Charlton Heston. God Bless the Second Amendment. God Bless America!
