Go, JoePa! Go!

MIAMI - Rebirth has been Penn State's theme in 2005. Joe Paterno's reputation was revived. So was his proud program.

So it seemed peculiarly fitting that a resurrected running back and a third-chance field goal helped the Nittany Lions conclude this remarkable season with a remarkable victory in the 72d Orange Bowl.

Thanks to tailback Austin Scott and kicker Kevin Kelly, Penn State, in its first postseason appearance in three years and first BCS appearance ever, edged Florida State, 26-23, last night in triple-overtime before 77,773 fans at Dolphins Stadium.

WOT A GAME!

I actually stayed up and watched the whole ding-dong-dangle thing- and then stayed up to watch the Rose Bowl the next night. I'm *still* yawning.
