Don't Panic! The Sky ISN'T Falling!

The world is coming to an end,...right??
The TrekMedic says (vehemently) WRONG!!!
What we are seeing here, gentle readers, is yet another round of feces stirring by the MSM.
Let's look at a few things first:
- The Presidential campaign is grinding along at a snail's pace, and the blogging media of right-minded citizens is outmaneuvering George Soros' socialist machine . No suspense there for a 24-hour news service. (Yawn)
- There's plenty of 2008 flu vaccine around, and public and private health outlets are mobilizing early to get everyone vaccinated early. Plus, no reports of the H5N1 "avian flu" virus involved this year. (Yawn)
- There's no major outbreak of West Nile-Barking Spider-Monkey SARS floating around the planet! (Yawn)
Start a new PANIC! Pick up randomly-occurring, rare occurances, broadcast them ad nauseum, bring in pseudo-experts and make it sound like MRSA suddenly has the country in a Vulcan Death Grip!
Now, as many people know, the TrekMedic is,...well, a paramedic and firefighter. Has been for 26 years. MRSA has been around for a long, long time. So has VRE (Vancomycin-resistant enterococci). The TrekMedic has dealt with patients having one or the other infection for years. It wasn't created in 2001 in the basement of some psychotic Islamofascist. It didn't suddenly appear from the firmament. AND IT ISN'T GOING TO OVERWHELM THE POPULATION OF THE UNITED STATES BY CHRISTMAS, OK!
Just do some simple things that you would do to stop spreading a common cold:
- Wash your hands frequently. And f**k those anti-bacterial soaps, they just make MRSA more resistant. Good ol' Dove will work just fine.
- Wear clean clothes.
- Don't swap spit with a stranger
- Cover cuts and rashes

Flyers were passed out at my son's HS because of the SARS, errr, I mean MRSA.
I have told him over and over again, WASH YOUR HANDS. A LOT. And pretty much everything else you said.
I even told him I'd give him a little bottle of the antibacterial hand cleaner to keep in his school bag. He looked at me like I was nuts, but I'm such a germaphobic, I HATE touching anything that the public masses put their hands all over, door knobs, pay phones, etc.
I even skeeve money because it's so dirty, but can't live without that.
Yeah, I know I have issues.
You know ... more ppl die from other more preventable things. This IS silly.
