I had an opportunity to travel to London on business about 12 years ago.

Having been born and raised in NYC, I never thought twice about stepping off a curb and waiting for the traffic to clear. Imagine my surprise when I stepped off at 'zebra crossing', or a crosswalk marked with yellow lamp posts. Traffic screached to a halt; apparently, the law states that when someone is in a zebra zone, no traffic may pass.

Forturantely, they didn't hold that mistake against ALL Americans!
