Democracy at Work Here

Afghan President Hamid Karzai sharply rebuked the US today after our military accidently fired on a civilians, killing 17 of them.


Isn't it refreshing that a popularly-elected head of state can express his justified outrage at this action via the press and through diplomatic channels,...instead of some Islamic-tinged psychopath declaring a Jihad against the great US Satan?

Afghanistan criticizes U.S. for civilian deaths

It was a rare reprimand. As many as 17 were killed in the air strike. Both nations are investigating.

KABUL, Afghanistan - In a rare rebuff, Afghanistan's government sharply criticized the U.S. military yesterday for killing up to 17 civilians in an air strike and ordered an immediate inquiry. The United States said it also would investigate what it called a "very unfortunate situation."
