About That "Open Dialogue on Race,..."
What do you see in this picture?
As a white male, I see NBA star LeBron James. He dribbling a basketball in one hand, while holding a HOT Brazilian model in the other hand, all the while yelling/shouting/laughing for the camera.
Certain black professional protesters see references to King Kong and have started a chorus of "stereotyping!" across the country.
Hmmm,....
Dialogue over.

I see the same thing you do. Also, if you read the article topics/titles provided on the cover, you get the idea that the focus will be sports, fitness, and the "ideal."
It is kind of like the purity police. They see things, because they want to find the bad in everything and then cause a stir. They need to get over themselves and realize that it is not a racist cover.
nope... definitely king kong. I've seen the movie and she looks just like him
I seem to remember him and Sharipova poking fun at each other not too long ago.
If you ask me, being LeBron doesn't look so bad.
From what I hear Leibowitz likes to copy other's art, (the poses are almost identical to a WWI recruitment poster, where King Kong is holding Lady Liberty), to generate controversy, and, big surprise, attention (marketing, whatever you want to call it) to herself.
At the worst, it shows a black man who is at the top of his game, with a trophy white woman. Should I be offended? I'm not. I'm more than a little envious.
