OK,..all snarkasm aside, I own several guns. The government knows I have them. I have a valid CCW permit. I also appear to have been raised (by two parents - one of each sex, BTW) with enough common sense to know shooting the next asshole that cuts me off on the road isn't going to solve anything and wipe away a 26-year career as a paramedic.

Take away the guns, and the same goons will switch to knives. Take away the knives, and they'll use baseball bats.
