From the WTF Files,....







Breaking: In the just announced Edward R. Murrow awards, the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric has won Best Newscast. CBS News won four awards in total, bested by ABC News which won six, including one for Overall Excellence. NBC News won one.

CBS News also took home an award for best Website, while ABC News won for spot news coverage of the Minneapolis bridge collapse.

So wait, does this mean that CBS is NOT going to fire Katie Couric despite their consistent basement dwelling int he ratings? Does this mean I will not see any new pictures of a tearful Katie in the near future?

Does this really mean anything? I mean the RTDN only had three network news programs to which they awarded those "coveted" Murrows--how hard can it be to win one when you are one of three? Was it like tossing Katie a bone for always tanking the ratings of her newscast?

And didn't George Clooney make a sychophantic movie about Edward R. Murrow and if Clooney admires him, isn't that enough for anyone not to want to be associated with his name?
