Bitch, Slapped (More!)

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon told Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton that her questions about how the U.S. plans to eventually withdraw from Iraq boosts enemy propaganda.

In a stinging rebuke to a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Undersecretary of Defense Eric Edelman responded to questions Clinton raised in May in which she urged the Pentagon to start planning now for the withdrawal of American forces.

A copy of Edelman's response, dated July 16, was obtained Thursday by The Associated Press.

"Premature and public discussion of the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq reinforces enemy propaganda that the United States will abandon its allies in Iraq, much as we are perceived to have done in Vietnam, Lebanon and Somalia," Edelman wrote.

He added that "such talk understandably unnerves the very same Iraqi allies we are asking to assume enormous personal risks."

Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines called Edelman's answer "at once outrageous and dangerous," and said the senator would respond to his boss, Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

(snip)

Edelman is the Undersecretary of defense for policy. He is also a former U.S. ambassador and one-time aide to Vice President Dick Cheney. During the 2004 campaign, Cheney told Iowa voters that electing the Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards would risk another terrorist attack.

Kerry jumped to Clinton's defense, deriding what he called smear tactics by the administration. (TM - I'm shocked! Aren't you??)

"They will say anything, do anything, and twist any truth to avoid accountability," said the Massachusetts senator.

(TM - Of course, what the story doesn't tell you is that Kerry was probably talking about Hanoi Harry and his White Flag Gang!)

Ugh. You don't appear to have an email so I'll leave this as a comment.

Check your posting dates. Something isn't right with your blog and it's the same problem I commented about the other day.

Right now, @ just about 11p on Thursday night, Philly Future has towards the bottom of the local stories feed, two posts of yours, or so it seems.

The posts "Two More Idiots Missing from the Liberal Village?" and "Well,...That Didn't Take Long,..." are both being displayed in PhillyFuture but both links are actually pointing to your June 25th post, Run, Fred! Run!"

I might not give a rat's ass about your politics, but as a computer junkie, I can't sit by idly and not at least advise you that you might have some technical issues you need to work out, either on your end or with Philly Future.

Oh yeah: I double checked each local story post currently displayed on PF and they all point to their respectively titled posts, each from today. Only yours appear fucked up.

I would start by looking on your end. One area to check is your own computer's time. If it doesn't maintain the proper time, you need to replace your CMOS/BIOS battery.

Sillys**ts,...my computer works just fine. Maybe the problem is with Philly Future? I know there's ALWAYS a lag time, and sometimes it locks on one blogger's posts for the past six months.

Isn't it so obvious? I think often liberals are overly sensitive to this point, because deep down in their skulls, there's a brain cell or two that knows this is true. It's just logic. If one half of the country is setting policy to engage the enemy and the other half wants to disengage from it, which half do you think the enemy is hoping will take over power?
