2011 - The Year We Take Back Congress and Make Obama's Life Hell!

DoubleStandarddradnatSelbuoD from Empress Nancy?

The following statements were made by Squeaker of the Mouse Nancy Pelosi in the January 2007 issue of AARP Magazine:

- Having five children in six years is the best training in the world for speaker of the House," says Nancy D'Alesandro Pelosi.

That's how she honed her organizational skills, says Pelosi, 66, who made sure to attend the birth of her sixth grandchild, Paul Michael Vos, just hours after the Democrats won the House elections that would make her the first woman speaker.

"When my children were young, time was my most precious commodity," she told the AARP Bulletin. "It made me the ultimate multitasker and master of focus, routine and scheduling."

- November was so exciting for me: Democrats had victories from coast to coast; my youngest daughter gave birth to my sixth grandchild; and my Democratic colleagues nominated me to represent them as Speaker.

- I view my role in politics as an extension of my role as mother and grandmother. The reasons I came to Congress are simple: the children, the children, the children.

- The House Democratic Caucus is blessed by the diversity of its members. Just as I do as a mother, as speaker, I intend to do a great deal of listening. But when necessary, I am not afraid to use my mother-of-five voice to ensure that I am heard.

All of which has the Trekmedic pondering:

Isn't it odd that the de facto head of the Democratic Party, a political party that is resoundingly pro-choice (pro-abortion, pro-pre-natal murder, etc), should constantly talk effusively about how many of her own children and grandchildren she had? Imagine if she practiced what she preached? Guess she CAN have her cake and eat it, too, huh?

Double standard - a set of principles that applies differently and usually more rigorously to one group of people or circumstances than to another; especially : a code of morals that applies more severe standards of sexual behavior to women than to men.

Now that you have a definition to work with, would you clarify exactly where in that article is evidence of a double standard?

Being that you're a leftist blogger,...I'll try to dumb it down enough so you can understand the concept better:

She's a Catholic who had many children.

Those children apparently also had many children.

The Democratic Party actively supports pro-abortion legislation at every municipal level.

If she practiced what she preached, she wouldn't be viewed as such a hypocrite.

Here's the definition of hypocrite:

Leave it to a leftist blogger to point out that this post is titled "Double Standard," not "Hypocrisy" and that the blogger still has not explained how his characterization of Nancy Pelosi constitutes a double standard.

For your education, here's an even better example of a "double standard."

Decide what you're trying to accuse Pelosi of and then try to stick to it in your post. That way, it won't take a leftist blogger to dumb down your own post in order to explain it back to the author.

"...Stating the Obvious to the Oblivious..."

Yeah, that sounds about right.
